Purpose: Submucosa-limited (pathological T1, pT1) colorectal cancers (CRCs) pose a continuing challenge in the choice of treatment options, which range from local excision to radical surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the morphometric and morphologic risk factors associated with regional lymph node metastasis (LNM) in pT1 CRC.
Methods: We performed a histological review of patients who underwent oncological resection between 2016 and 2022.
Objective: To compare the short-term results after left-sided laparoscopic colectomy with transanal and transabdominal specimen extraction.
Material Land Methods: We selected 998 appropriate manuscripts and subsequently excluded 995 ones due to exclusion criteria. Thus, the meta-analysis was based on 3 randomized trials in accordance with PRISMA recommendations.

Purpose: To develop a method for testing the MSI based on targeted NGS.
Methods: Based on the results of previous studies, 81 microsatellite loci with high variability in MSI-H tumors were selected, and a method for calculating the MSI score was developed. Using the MSI score, we defined the MSI status in endometral (162), colon (153), and stomach (190) cancers.

Background And Aims: Tofacitinib (TFB) appears to be effective in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC); however, available real-world studies are limited by cohort size. TFB could be an option in the treatment of acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC). We aimed to investigate efficacy and safety of TFB in moderate-to-severe colitis and ASUC.

Bacillus cereus is a spore-forming bacterium found in the environment mainly in soil. Bacillus spores are known to be extremely resistant not only to environmental factors, but also to various sanitation regimes. This leads to spore contamination of toxin-producing strains in hospital and food equipment and, therefore, poses a great threat to human health.

Purpose: Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) is the most standardized method for the local excision of rectal neoplasms. Unfortunately, local excisions of rectal lesions by means of TEM are not completely free from undesirable functional sequela. This study was performed to evaluate the risk factors of major loss of function after TEM.

Materials And Methods: We studied biopsies of 75 patients with total or left-sided moderate and severe ulcerative colitis, divided into groups depending on treatment. The first group of UC patients (n=29) received stem cell therapy 2 mln per kg; the second group of UC patients (n=27) received vedolizumab and the third group (n=19) MSC and vedolizumab.

The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of Russian patients with microsatellite instability (MSI) tumors. MSI in the tumor was determined in 514 patients with colon cancer using PCR and subsequent fragment analysis for five markers (NR21, NR24, BAT25, BAT26, and NR27). In the presence of microsatellite instability, the mismatch repair (MMR) system genes were examined using the NGS and MLPA methods to establish the diagnosis of Lynch syndrome.

Background: Since December 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic has created an increasing challenge in managing inflammatory bowel dis- ease patients both medically and surgically. Although several international and national medical/surgical associations published guide- lines in this area, there is still a huge difference between daily practices and these guidelines, especially depending on regional practices and governmental policies. Therefore, we aimed to investigate and define gastroenterologists' and surgeons' fear of COVID-19 and how they have managed inflammatory bowel disease patients during this pandemic in the Black Sea region.

Purpose: Developing new and efficient approaches for the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) is an important issue. Circulating extracellular nanovesicles (ENVs) present a promising class of cancer markers. Cells of well-differentiated adenocarcinomas retain the molecular characteristics of colon epithelial cells, and the ENVs secreted by these cells may have colon-specific surface markers.

Purpose: Colorectal anastomotic leakage (AL) is a life-threatening complication, which increases morbidity, hospital stay and cost of treatment. The aim of this study is to identify risk factors, including intraoperative indocyanine green fluorescence angiography (ICG FA), associated with the leak of stapled colorectal anastomosis.
Methods: Four hundred twenty-nine consecutive patients underwent surgery between 2017 and 2019 for benign (n=10, 2.
Objective: To reduce the incidence of postoperative complications via reinforcement of colorectal anastomosis.
Material And Methods: A randomized prospective study included 115 patients. In the main group (=60), anterior resections were followed by reinforcement of colorectal anastomosis via suturing the muscular and serous layers at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 o'clock.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignancies in the world. It's estimated about 1.8 M new CRC cases worldwide per year.

We present an extremely rare clinical case of a 38-year-old Russian patient with multiple malignant neoplasms of the uterus and colon caused by genetically confirmed two hereditary diseases: Diamond-Blackfan anemia and Lynch syndrome. Molecular genetic research carried out by various methods (NGS, Sanger sequencing, aCGH, and MLPA) revealed a pathogenic nonsense variant in the gene: NM_000179.2: c.

to estimate the quality and availability of medical care for patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), to assess the impact of the economic burden of these diseases on the healthcare budget of Russia and to systematize the main problems in the organization of medical care and drug supply for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Regional IBD databases (2016-2018), official statistical databases, costs of treatment and results of expert interviews with specialists in IBD were used in the study. The analyzed databases showed 104,668 patients with UC in Russia in 2018 (prevalence rate 71 per 100,000 people) and 66,647 patients with CD (prevalence rate of 45 per 100,000 people).
