Objective: In this work we intend to design a system to classify human arousal at five levels (i.e., five stress levels) using four peripheral bio signals including photo-plethysmography measurements (PPG), galvanic skin response (GSR), thorax respiration (TR) and abdominal respiration (AR).

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) stands out as an incredibly efficient, environmentally conscious, and fast method for obtaining essential oils (EOs) from plants. These EOs are abundant in aromatic compounds that play a crucial role in various industries such as food, fragrances, cosmetics, perfumery, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. While there is a wealth of existing literature on using supercritical fluids for extracting plant essential oils, there's still much to explore in terms of combining different techniques to enhance the SFE process.

This study explored the catalytic performance of two robust zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), MIP-202(Zr) and UiO-66-(COH) in the ring-opening of epoxides using alcohols and amines as nucleophilic reagents. The MOFs were characterized by techniques such as FT-IR, PXRD, FE-SEM, and EDX. Through systematic optimization of key parameters (catalyst amount, time, temperature, solvent), MIP-202(Zr) achieved 99% styrene oxide conversion in 25 min with methanol at room temperature using 5 mg catalyst.

Background: This study aims to investigate cell-free DNA (cfDNA) methylation of genes involved in some immune system targets as biomarkers of radioresistance in patients with non-metastatic rectal cancer.

Methods: Gene expression (GSE68204, GPL6480, and GSE15781) and DNA methylation profiles (GSE75548 and GSE139404) of rectal cancer patients were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. GEO2R and FunRich software were first used to identify genes with significant expression differences.

A new organic-functionalized Cu-based Anderson-type polyoxomolybdate, namely (CHN)[Na(HO)][CHCuMoNO]·2(HO) (Cu-POM), was synthesized via a simple one-pot reaction and subsequently characterized using a range of analytical and spectral techniques. Structural investigation by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the polyanion component of the synthesized compound (i.e.

Deception is mentioned as an expression or action which hides the truth and deception detection as a concept to uncover the truth. In this research, a connectivity analysis of Electro Encephalography study is presented regarding cognitive processes of an instructed liar/truth-teller about identity during an interview. In this survey, connectivity analysis is applied because it can provide unique information about brain activity patterns of lying and interaction among brain regions.
