Aims: This study aimed to answer two questions: what are the best diagnostic methods for diagnosing bacterial arthritis of a native joint?; and what are the most commonly used definitions for bacterial arthritis of a native joint?

Methods: We performed a search of PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane libraries for relevant studies published between January 1980 and April 2020. Of 3,209 identified studies, we included 27 after full screening. Sensitivity, specificity, area under the curve, and Youden index of diagnostic tests were extracted from included studies.

Introduction: It is unknown whether different types of small vessel disease (SVD), differentially relate to brain atrophy and if co-occurring Alzheimer's disease pathology affects this relation.

Methods: In 725 memory clinic patients with SVD (mean age 67 ± 8 years, 48% female) we compared brain volumes of those with moderate/severe white matter hyperintensities (WMHs; n = 326), lacunes (n = 132) and cerebral microbleeds (n = 321) to a reference group with mild WMHs (n = 197), also considering cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) amyloid status in a subset of patients (n = 488).

Results: WMHs and lacunes, but not cerebral microbleeds, were associated with smaller gray matter (GM) volumes.

Background: Bone marrow stimulation (BMS) is a common surgical intervention in the treatment of small osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLTs). Evidence has shown good clinical outcomes after BMS in the short term, but several studies have shown less favorable results at midterm and long-term follow-up because of fibrocartilaginous repair tissue degeneration.

Chronic disorders of the peroneal tendons are a common cause of posterolateral ankle pain, including tendinopathy, tendon instability, and chronic tendon tears. They are often preceded by ligamentous instability or predisposing anatomic abnormalities such as a shallow fibular groove or a cavovarus foot deformity. Given the substantial disability associated with chronic peroneal tendon disorders, it is important for orthopaedic surgeons to optimize the diagnostic and treatment strategies of these entities based on contemporary studies.

A rigid surface⁻volume registration scheme is presented in this study to register computed tomography (CT) and free-hand tracked ultrasound (US) images of the talocrural joint. Prior to registration, bone surfaces expected to be visible in US are extracted from the CT volume and bone contours in 2D US data are enhanced based on monogenic signal representation of 2D US images. Objective: The aim of this study was to preliminarily evaluate an oral small molecule p38 kinase inhibitor in patients with early Alzheimer's disease (AD) for the effects on brain amyloid plaque load and episodic memory function, and to establish pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamics correlations if any effects identified on these parameters.

Methods: Sixteen patients with early AD received a highly selective p38 inhibitor (neflamapimod) for 84 days (12 weeks). To obtain a broad range of plasma drug exposures, subjects randomized to receive either 40 mg ( = 9) or 125 mg ( = 7) twice daily.
