This retrospective study investigated the risk of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) among individuals identified as glaucoma suspects and examined associated cardiovascular risk factors. We conducted a longitudinal, nationwide cohort study using data from the Korean National Health Insurance Service (KNHIS) and included 362,285 participants aged ≥ 40 years from the Korean National Health Screening Program (NHSP) without pre-existing POAG in 2009 and 2010. Of these, glaucoma suspects (n = 32,220) were defined as individuals with at least two recorded instances of the KCD code H400 for glaucoma suspect and no prior antiglaucoma medication prescriptions before health screening.

We have developed novel chiral F-labeled probes, each featuring two chiral centers, to exploit the "match-mismatch" effect, thereby enhancing enantiodiscrimination. This strategy effectively differentiates chiral analytes with quaternary chiral carbon centers as well as those with similar substituents at the chiral center.

Previous studies showed no improvement in bacterial biomass for Puniceispirillum marinum IMCC1322 under light regimes. Nevertheless, in nutrient-replete cultures with higher inoculating cell densities, strain IMCC1322 exhibited proteorhodopsin photoheterotrophy. ZNF398/ZER6 belongs to the Krüppel-associated box (KRAB) domain-containing zinc finger proteins (K-ZNFs), the largest family of transcriptional repressors in higher organisms. ZER6 exists in two isoforms, p52 and p71, generated through alternative splicing. Our investigation revealed that p71-ZER6 is abundantly expressed in the stomach, kidney, liver, heart, and brown adipose tissue, while p52-ZER6 is predominantly found in the stomach and brain.

This study aims to enhance positron emission tomography (PET) imaging systems by developing a continuous depth-of-interaction (DOI) measurement technique using a single-ended readout. Our primary focus is on reducing the number of readout channels in the scintillation detectors while maintaining accurate DOI estimations, using a high-pass filter-based signal multiplexing technique combined with artificial neural networks (ANNs). Approach: Instead of reading out all 64 signals from an 8×8 silicon photomultiplier array for DOI estimation, the proposed method technique reduces the signals into just four channels by applying high-pass filters with different time constants.
