Background And Objectives: The dynamics of microstructural spinal cord (SC) damage and repair in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) and their clinical relevance have yet to be explored. We set out to describe patient-specific profiles of microstructural SC damage and change during the first year after MS diagnosis and to investigate their associations with disability and SC atrophy at 5 years.
Methods: We performed a longitudinal monocentric cohort study among patients with relapsing-remitting MS: first relapse <1 year, no relapse <1 month, and high initial severity on MRI (>9 T2 lesions on brain MRI and/or initial myelitis).

Aim: Infants born very preterm spend their early postnatal life in a neonatal intensive care unit, where irregular and unpredictable sounds replace the structured and familiar intrauterine auditory environment. Music interventions may contribute to alleviate these deleterious effects by reducing stress and providing a form of environmental enrichment.
Material And Methods: This was an ancillary study as part of a blinded randomised controlled clinical trial entitled the effect of music on preterm infant's brain development.

Background: Although virtual reality (VR) simulators have demonstrated their efficiency for basic technical skill training of healthcare professionals, validation for more complex and sequential procedures, especially in arthroscopic surgery, is still warranted. We hypothesized that the VR-based training simulation improves arthroscopic cuff repair skills when transferred to realistic visual and haptic conditions.
Hypothesis: VR-based training simulation improves arthroscopic cuff repair skills when transferred to realistic visual and haptic conditions.

Purpose: To review the functional results of the midurethral sling (MUS) in the management of mixed urinary incontinence (MUI) and provide guidance on patient selection and the potential benefits of concomitant treatments.
Methods: A literature review from the past 20years was conducted from the PubMed database using the terms "mixed urinary incontinence," associated to "sling," "midurethral sling," "suburethral sling," "mid-urethral sling," "sub-urethral sling," and "tension-free vaginal tape".
Results: The efficacy of the MUS varies considerably depending on the definition of success used.

Background: The EULAR recommendations for the treatment of systemic sclerosis (SSc) were updated in 2017, informed by a systematic literature review (SLR) completed in 2014.
Objectives: The aim of this new SLR was to provide the most up-to-date literature to underpin contemporary EULAR recommendations for the management of SSc.
Methods: 30 searches for 30 interventions (including several outcomes/clinical questions), and 1 dedicated search (with several interventions) for calcinosis were prioritised by the task force.

Objectives: This study aims to characterize the age-related natural dynamics of total serum bilirubin (TSB) in preterm infants through a mathematical model and to study the model parameters as potential biomarkers for detecting associated morbidities.
Methods: We proposed an exponential decay model and applied it to each infant. Patient-specific parameters were obtained by minimizing the error between measured TSB and model output.

Background: A significant proportion of trans women is demanding for a genital gender-affirming surgery, with vulvo-vaginoplasty being the most frequently requested procedure. The gold standard for primary vaginoplasty in trans women is the penile skin inversion technique with scrotal skin graft, which allows for increased depth of the vaginal cavity.
Aims: The assessment of vulvo-vaginoplasty outcomes utilizing penile skin inversion and scrotal skin graft in individuals assigned male at birth in the surgeon's learning curve involves evaluating aesthetics, functionality, and sexual aspects.

Objective: To assess the maternal and fetal benefits of delaying oxytocin perfusion by 24 h following labor induction by amniotomy after 41 weeks of gestation (WG).
Methods: We performed a retrospective review including all women with a vertex presentation fetus who had an indication for labor induction by amniotomy with or without oxytocin after 41 WG between 2015 and 2022. Patients who underwent an IOL by amniotomy followed by oxytocin perfusion within 0 to 4 hours (early oxytocin group: EO group) were compared with patients who underwent an IOL by amniotomy alone or followed by an oxytocin perfusion after an expectant period for up to 24 hours in the absence of a spontaneous onset of labor (delayed oxytocin group: DO group).

The worldwide prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is increasing in parallel with obesity. One anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is considered effective to treat both T2DM and obesity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of OAGB versus sleeve gastrectomy (SG) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) for treatment of T2DM, analyzing data exclusively from randomized control trials (RCTs).

Purpose: The objective of this scoping review was to identify the topics of research and the types of studies published by the French Association of Urologists in Training (AFUF) since it was created, 35 years ago and to perform a bibliometric analysis.
Methods: A scoping review on PubMed, Google scholar, Excerpta Medica database (EMBASE) was conducted from 1989 until the 31st of December 2023. The PRISMA extended guidelines for scoping reviews were followed.

Purpose: Observer-based scoring systems, or automatic methods, based on features or kinematic data analysis, are used to perform surgical skill assessments. These methods have several limitations, observer-based ones are subjective, and the automatic ones mainly focus on technical skills or use data strongly related to technical skills to assess non-technical skills. In this study, we are exploring the use of heart-rate data, a non-technical-related data, to predict values of an observer-based scoring system thanks to random forest regressors.

The MTOR inhibitors have demonstrated antiviral properties, and prior non-randomized studies have suggested they may have a suppressive effect on BKPyV replication. Here, in this randomized, multicenter, controlled trial (BKEVER study), we sought to evaluate the impact of everolimus (EVR) in facilitating the clearance of BKPyV compared to simply reducing immunosuppression among kidney transplant recipients (KTRs). All together, 130 KTRs presenting with BKPyV DNAemia were randomized 1:1 into two groups.

To date, pure-tone audiometry remains the gold standard for clinical auditory testing. However, pure-tone audiometry is time-consuming and only provides a discrete estimate of hearing acuity. Here, we aim to address these two main drawbacks by developing a machine learning (ML)-based approach for fully automated bone-conduction (BC) audiometry tests with forehead vibrator placement.

Background: The Valve Academic Research Consortium for High Bleeding Risk (VARC-HBR) has recently introduced a consensus document that outlines risk factors to identify high bleeding risk in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the prevalence and predictive value of the VARC-HBR definition in a contemporary, large-scale transcatheter aortic valve replacement population.
Methods: Multicenter study including 10 449 patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

Targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) was originally developed to enhance prosthetic control in amputees. However, it has also serendipitously demonstrated benefits in reducing phantom pain and neuromas. As a result, it has emerged as a secondary treatment for chronic neuromas in amputees and holds promise for managing neuropathic pain in non-amputee patients, particularly those with neuromas.
