The high chlorine content in municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash is a key factor restricting its treatment and disposal. In this study, a new treatment method was proposed to enhance the deep dechlorination of fly ash by coupling supercritical CO (SC) treatment with water washing. Simultaneously the alkaline compounds in fly ash can fix CO and achieve CO credits.

The hybrid quantum system of cold atomic gas and optical cavity can host many exotic phenomena including phase transitions and multistabilities. In this Letter, we investigate the effect of photon hopping between two Dicke cavities and show rich quantum phases for steady states and dynamic processes. Starting from a generic dimer system where the two cavities are not necessarily identical, we analytically obtain all possible steady-state phases and confirm their existence by numerical calculations.

The development of modern sequencing technologies provides great opportunities to measure gene expression of multiple tissues from different individuals. The three-way variation across genes, tissues, and individuals makes statistical inference a challenging task. In this paper, we propose a Bayesian multi-way clustering approach to cluster genes, tissues, and individuals simultaneously.

Background: Sarcopenia, myosteatosis, and sarcopenic obesity are known to adversely affect nutritional status and quality of life in cirrhotic patients. However, there is limited research on these conditions in individuals with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). This study aims to identify risk factors for sarcopenia, myosteatosis, and sarcopenic obesity in PBC patients and to investigate their association with therapeutic outcomes and liver-related mortality.

The user perception of mobile game is crucial for improving user experience and thus enhancing game profitability. The sparse data captured in the game can lead to sporadic performance of the model. This paper proposes a new method, the balanced graph factorization machine (BGFM), based on existing algorithms, considering the data imbalance and important high-dimensional features.

Inter-regional input-output (IRIO) tables are essential for socioeconomic and environmental analysis. This paper compiled a continuous time series of Chinese IRIO tables with a detailed regional and sectoral classification, covering a longer period from 1987 to 2017 than existing Chinese IRIO tables. Additionally, we integrated the China provincial CO emission inventory data (1987-2017) to analyze trends and identify the main driving factors behind regional economic linkages and carbon emissions changes.

: As the foundation and core strength of the healthcare system, the primary care initial diagnosis system has been receiving attention from both the medical and management communities. This study aimed to analyze residents' attitudes toward the system and explore the influencing factors relating to the system in Beijing; : Different methods were used to analyze the multidimensional data. This study selected 610 Beijing residents to complete the survey and used a purposeful sampling method to recruit 15 participants aged 25 to 70 for face-to-face individual semi-structured interviews, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods to carry out statistical analysis.

The performance optimization of photoluminescent (PL) materials is a hot topic in the field of applied materials research. There are many different crystal defects in photoluminescent materials, which can have a significant impact on their optical properties. The luminescent properties and chemical stability of materials can be effectively improved by adjusting lattice defects in crystals.

In recent years, despite global improvements in development, food scarcity and waste remain critical issues impacting food security, human health, and environmental sustainability. China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs reports that China's food loss and waste rate is approximately 22.7%, amounting to 460 million tons annually, with the consumption and post-harvest processing stages facing the highest losses.

Accompanied by the flourishing development of China's prepared dishes industry, understanding consumer purchasing decisions helps companies clarify market needs and expectations. This study analyzed consumers' willingness to purchase prepared dishes and the moderating role of time pressure using the Theory of Planned Behavior and Structural Equation Modeling. Four hundred and three completed respondents were collected through an online survey of consumers in Beijing, the Capital of China.

Star employees are pivotal to organizational success and significantly influence their peers. Previous studies on this topic often explore the attributes of stars and nonstars in isolation. Using social comparison theory, our study posits that as employees' performance approaches that of star employees, nonstar employees become more likely to compare themselves with stars, thereby increasing their sense of psychological entitlement.

Disorder is ubiquitous in real materials and can have dramatic effects on quantum phase transitions. Originating from the disorder enhanced quantum fluctuation, quantum Griffiths singularity (QGS) has been revealed as a universal phenomenon in quantum criticality of low-dimensional superconductors. However, due to the weak fluctuation effect, QGS is very challenging to detect experimentally in three-dimensional (3D) superconducting systems.

In many applications, the process of identifying a specific feature of interest often involves testing multiple hypotheses for their joint statistical significance. Examples include mediation analysis, which simultaneously examines the existence of the exposure-mediator and the mediator-outcome effects, and replicability analysis, aiming to identify simultaneous signals that exhibit statistical significance across multiple independent studies. In this work, we present a new approach called the joint mirror (JM) procedure that effectively detects such features while maintaining false discovery rate (FDR) control in finite samples.

Objective: Reductions in psychological resilience and declining cognition are common among older adults. Understanding the longitudinal association between them could be beneficial for interventions that focus on age-related cognitive and psychological health. In this study, we evaluated the longitudinal associations between cognition and psychological resilience over time in a nationally representative sample of US older adults.

Room-temperature magnetism and its stability upon miniaturization are essential characteristics required for materials for spintronic devices and information storage. Among various candidates, FeGaTe stands out due to its high Curie temperature and strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA), recently gaining large attention as one of the promising candidate materials for spintronics applications. In this study, we measured the thickness-dependent ferromagnetic properties of FeGaTe and (FeNi)GaTe (with x = 0.

Trap state engineering has been widely employed to manipulate the dynamics of ion migration in metal halide perovskites (MHPs), a crucial factor associated with the performance and stability of MHP-based devices. However, the specific roles of different trap states remain poorly understood due to their complicated spatial and energetics distributions. Herein, we propose a methodology for independently regulating the distributions of bulk shallow and surface deep trap states in MHPs.

Background: Traditionally, the educational hypergamy dominates in most societies due to men's higher educational attainment and advantages in market work. Women in hypogamy showed greater physical and mental health disadvantages because it goes against the traditional gender ideology about marriage and results in stress. However, the recent rise in women's education and the subsequent changes in people's attitude toward assortative marriages may alter this association.

Livestock farming system (LFS) is an important pillar of the agri-food system. With global environmental problems severer, exploring how to improve the eco-environment of LFS through institutional change is receiving increasingly concern. Based on macro and micro data from Inner Mongolia, this study examines the impacts of land titling on the eco-environment of LFS, explores the potential mechanisms, and analyzes the heterogeneity in terms of farm size by applying GIS spatial analysis and time-varying difference-in-difference (TV-DID) model.

Background: After the lifting of epidemic control measures in China at the end of 2022, the number of COVID-19 infections has increased dramatically. Such an upsurge may intensify people's health anxiety and raise concerns about the risk of reinfection. While numerous studies have shown the correlation between them during the COVID-19, research on their underlying mechanism remains limited.
