Gold-induced cytokine (GOLDIC) is a novel orthobiologic approach utilizing gold particles to produce a serum rich in immunoregulating cytokines and growth factors, which is being explored for its potential in tissue regeneration and treating musculoskeletal issues like knee osteoarthritis (OA). This study aims to review its mechanism of action along with the outcomes of , preclinical, and clinical studies, with a secondary focus on documenting clinical trials related to its use in OA of the knee. A systematic search was conducted in four databases (Embase, Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science) for studies on GOLDIC therapy for knee OA, using specific keywords related to knee anatomy and OA.

Background: Peroneus longus tendon (PLT) is a known graft utilised in the ligamentous reconstructions of knee. The current review was performed to analyze the available evidence regarding PLT in the arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.
Methods: A comprehensive search of literature was performed on March 1, 2023 using 5 databases (for manuscripts published between 2010 and 2023).
Introduction: Since previous studies, including small-scale meta-analyses comparing accelerometer-based portable navigation (APN-TKA) and conventional techniqueof total knee arthroplasty (CONV-TKA), have reported divergent results, there is a need for an updated meta-analysis to compare complications, functional outcomes, clinically relevant outcomes and radiographic alignment of components.
Methods: This meta-analysis was conducted as per PRISMA guidelines. Randomised controlled trials, and non-randomised comparative cohort studies in English language on primary TKA were included.

Background: Innovations in implant designs and computer technology have led to the development of smart implants and prostheses in the field of orthopedics and trauma. Sensor-guided devices enable close monitoring of physical, chemical and biological environment around the implants, which has been purported to meliorate the intra-operative precision and post-operative surveillance of patients.
Objective: We evaluate the current applications of sensor-based technology in the management of patients with a spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions.

Liver transplantation (LT) is a life-saving surgical procedure and the current standard of care for most patients with end stage liver disease. With improvements in organ preservation techniques, perioperative care, and immunosuppression, there is better patient and graft survival following LT, and assessment of the liver allograft in long-term survivors is becoming increasingly important. Recurrent or viral or autoimmune injury remains the most common causes of chronic hepatitis and fibrosis following liver transplantation in adults.

Cholangiocarcinomas are a heterogeneous group of highly aggressive cancers that may arise anywhere within the biliary tree. There is a wide geographical variation with regards to its incidence, and risk-factor associations which may include liver fluke infection, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and hepatolithiasis amongst others. These tumours are classified into intrahepatic, perihilar and distal based on their anatomical location.

Establishing the cause of vomiting can be challenging in 10% of patients. In such situations, the clinicians need to consider non-gastrointestinal causes including metabolic and endocrine disorders. Clinical and laboratory clues may prompt further relevant tests that will lead to the correct diagnosis.

Background: Patient and graft survival 20-years after pediatric liver transplantation (pLT) are excellent. In children, attainment of normal growth, education and social adaptation to be an independent adult are equally important. This is particularly relevant for children who receive liver transplant at a young age, where infantile-onset liver disease, surgery and immunosuppression can adversely affect growth and neurodevelopment.

Metabolic liver diseases (MLD) are the second most common indication for liver transplantation (LT) in children. This is based on the fact that the majority of enzymes involved in various metabolic pathways are present within the liver and LT can cure or at least control the disease manifestation. LT is also performed in metabolic disorders for end-stage liver disease, its sequelae including hepatocellular cancer.

Morphological diversity and several new distinct pathologic subtypes of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are now well-recognized. Recent advances in tumor genomics and transcriptomics have identified several recurrent somatic/genetic alterations that are closely related with histomorphological subtypes and have therefore, greatly improved our understanding of HCC pathogenesis. Pathologic subtyping allows for a diagnosis which is clinically helpful and can have important implication in patient prognostication as some of these subtypes are extremely aggressive with vascular invasion, early recurrence, and worst outcomes.

Objective: The Expert Consensus Guidelines initiative on MIDH for LDLT was organized with the goal of safe implementation and development of these complex techniques with donor safety as the main priority.
Background: Following the development of minimally invasive liver surgery, techniques of MIDH were developed with the aim of reducing the short- and long-term consequences of the procedure on liver donors. These techniques, although increasingly performed, lack clinical guidelines.

Objectives: Pediatric transplant recipients may be at increased risk of developing serious infections due to COVID-19. We undertook a web-based survey among parents of post-liver transplant pediatric patients to assess knowledge and concerns regarding COVID-19 pandemic and impact of social media on them.
Methods: This cross-sectional online survey was conducted between March 21 and March 26, 2020.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2), though primarily a respiratory pathogen, also involves the gastrointestinal tract. Similar to the respiratory mucosa, angiotensin converting enzyme-2 (ACE-2) receptor and transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS2) co-express in the gastrointestinal tract, which facilitates viral entry into the tissue. Less than 10% of children with infection develop diarrhea and vomiting.

Over the last few decades, outcomes with living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) have improved significantly. This has resulted in patients who were denied liver transplantation previously, due to various comorbidities and high risk, now being considered for LDLT. This includes patients with severe valvular heart disease such as aortic stenosis.

Aims: The aim of our study was to compare the outcome of Kasai portoenterostomy (KPE) in children with biliary atresia (BA) older than 90 days to children less than 90 days and to study its safety and efficacy in children older than 90 days.
Subjects And Methods: Relevant data were collected from our prospectively maintained database of all children with BA who underwent KPE over a 5-year period. Children were divided into two groups: Group 1 ≤90 days and Group 2 >90 days.
Split-liver transplantation (SLT) is a valuable option for optimizing the use of good-quality deceased donor grafts. It is not routinely reported outside the West because of limited deceased donor numbers, technical and organizational constraints, lack of experience, and a predominant living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) practice. At our center, 20% of the liver transplantations (LTs) are from deceased donors.
