Regression (total or partial) is a common phenomenon in melanoma. From a pathogenic perspective, it is highly complex and only partially understood, involving aspects of both the tumor and the individual. One of the determining factors is the clonal selection of the tumor, wherein some clones within the tumor survive while others perish.

Objectives: Enthesitis is considered a hallmark of psoriatic arthritis (PsA). The objective was to assess clinical enthesitis in PsA including its prevalence in different contexts, scores used and consequences of enthesitis.
Methods: A systematic literature review with meta-analysis was conducted in PubMed 2010-2023, focusing on manuscripts involving adult PsA patients and reporting information related to enthesitis.

Background: Numerous studies have reported an association between neutrophils and T2DM, although this relationship remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the interaction of neutrophils and a dietary intervention on T2DM incidence after 60 months of follow-up.
Methods: A comprehensive analysis was conducted on the framework of the CORDIOPREV study, which included 462 patients without T2DM at the beginning of the study.

Background And Aims: Liver transplant (LT) for transplant oncology (TO) indications is being slowly adopted worldwide and has been recommended to be incorporated cautiously due to concerns about mid-long-term survival and its impact on the waiting list.
Approach And Results: We conducted 4 systematic reviews of all series on TO indications (intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and perihilar cholangiocarcinoma [phCC]) and liver metastases from neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and colorectal cancer (CRLM) and compared them using patient-level meta-analyses to data obtained from the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) database considering conventional daily-practice indications. Secondary analyses were done for specific selection criteria (Mayo-like protocols for phCC, SECA-2 for CRLM, and Milan criteria for NET).

Jaboticaba () is a recognizable and unique crop from Brazil. The fruit's byproducts are currently being studied, given their bioactive composition and promising anti-cancer potential. It is not evident, however, if different harvesting seasons can modify the chemical profile and antioxidant capacity of jaboticaba fruit fractions.

We assessed the effectiveness and safety of vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) versus direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) using artificial intelligence techniques. This is a retrospective study in 15 Spanish hospitals (2014-2020), including adult AF patients with no history of anticoagulation, thrombosis events, rheumatic mitral valvular heart disease, mitral valve stenosis, or pregnancy. We employed EHRead technology based on natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), along with SNOMED-CT terminology, to extract clinical data from electronic health records (EHRs).

Background: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have toxic potential, especially as carcinogens, neurotoxins, and endocrine disruptors. The objective of this study is to know the impact of exposure to PAHs on the reproductive health of male workers who operate in solar thermal plants.
Methods: Case-control study.

Background: In volumetric muscle loss (VML) injuries, spontaneous muscle regeneration capacity is limited. The implantation of autologous adipose tissue in the affected area is an option to treat these lesions; however, the effectiveness of this therapy alone is insufficient for a complete recovery of the damaged muscle. This study examined the influence of treadmill exercise on the rehabilitation of VML injuries reconstructed with autologous adipose tissue, as a strategy to counteract the limitations of spontaneous regeneration observed in these injuries.

Background: Malnutrition and sarcopenia are highly prevalent in patients with head neck cancer (HNC). An accurate early diagnosis is necessary for starting nutritional support, as both are clearly associated with clinical outcomes and mortality. We aimed to evaluate the applicability and accuracy of body composition analysis using electrical bioimpedance vectorial analysis (BIVA) for diagnosing malnutrition and sarcopenia in patients with HNC cancer undergoing systemic treatment with chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Background: Abrocitinib, a selective JAK 1 inhibitor, was recently approved in Europe. Despite its approval, real-world data on its efficacy and safety in treating moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD) remains limited.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the short-term effectiveness and safety of abrocitinib in a real-life setting for patients with moderate-to-severe AD.

Massive intravascular hemolysis occurs not unfrequently in many clinical conditions. Breakdown of erythrocytes promotes the accumulation of heme-derivates in the kidney, increasing oxidative stress and cell death, thus promoting acute kidney injury (AKI). NADPH oxidase 4 (Nox4) is a major source of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the kidney, however it is unknown the role of Nox4 in hemolysis and whether inhibition of this enzyme may protect from heme-mediated injury.

Background: Increasing evidence supports the role of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in atherosclerosis in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients, suggesting that therapeutic strategies targeting AGEs may offer potential benefits in this population. The Mediterranean diet is associated with improved biomarkers and anthropometric measurements related with atherosclerosis in addition to its ability to modulate AGE metabolism. Our aim was to determine whether the reduction in atherosclerosis progression (measured by changes in intima-media thickness of both common carotid arteries (IMT-CC)), observed after consumption of a Mediterranean diet compared to a low-fat diet, is associated with a modulation of circulating AGE levels in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).
