Pediatric eosinophilic fasciitis: similarities and differences with adult forms.

The purpose of this study was to identify pediatric eosinophilic fasciitis, which is an extremely rare condition, in order to describe their clinical, paraclinical, and therapeutic characteristics. We made a call for observations via societies for pediatric rheumatology in France and surrounding countries and collected clinical and paraclinical data of the cases fulfilling the diagnostic criteria. Eight patients under 18 years of age with confirmed eosinophilic fasciitis followed between April 2004 and July 2022 in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain were included.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate whether combining the analysis of different magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signs enhances the diagnostic accuracy of lateral meniscus posterior root tears (LMPRTs) in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. Objective: Fever is a classic symptom in postoperative period, but to our knowledge no study shows exclusively the occurrence of fever after open aortic repair (OAR) and explores the difference between explained and unexplained fever.

Percutaneous Closure of Sub-Annular Rupture Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Complicated by Severe Tricuspid Regurgitation.

Aortic annular rupture is a rare and usually fatal complication of TAVR. We report the case of a sub-annular aortic rupture contained in the right ventricle and percutaneously repaired. The procedure was complicated by new-onset severe tricuspid regurgitation related to tricuspid injury during wire externalization and immediately treated by transcatheter edge-to-edge repair.

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome in a methylphenidate-treated patient: a case report.

Background: Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is characterized by severe headaches, often thunderclap headaches, and a multifocal constriction of the cerebral arteries. Although RCVS can occur spontaneously, some cases occur after exposure to drugs. We describe the first case of RCVS in which methylphenidate, a drug with vasoconstrictive properties, is the only suspected drug.

Biopsy-Proven T-Cell Mediated Rejection After Belatacept Rescue Conversion: A Multicenter Retrospective Study.

After kidney transplantation, conversion to belatacept is a promising alternative in patients with poor graft function or intolerance to calcineurin inhibitors. The risk of acute rejection has not been well described under these conditions. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in trauma patient in France: A retrospective nationwide registry.

Background: Indications for Veno-venous (VV) or veno-arterial (VA) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) after trauma rely on poor evidence. The main aims were to describe the population of trauma patients requiring either VV or VA ECMO and report their clinical management and outcomes.

Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a risk factor for cholangiocarcinoma. When a child is diagnosed with both PSC and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), evidence-based information on counseling families and risk management of developing cholangiocarcinoma is limited. In this case series (PubMed/collaborators), we included patients with PSC-IBD who developed cholangiocarcinoma and contacted authors to determine an event curve specifying the time between the second diagnosis (IBD or PSC) and a diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma.

Central nervous system complications of immune checkpoint inhibitors: A comprehensive review.

The ever-increasing use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has significantly improved cancer management, but at the cost of frequent immunologic side effects. Among them, neurologic immune-related adverse events (nirAEs) are less common but pose a challenge to clinicians due to their severity, heterogeneous nature and nonspecific clinical presentation, making diagnosis complex. The prognosis of these nirAEs, especially those related to the central nervous system (CNS), correlates with their rapid recognition and therapeutic management.
