Unlabelled: Road crashes are the first cause of mortality for young adults aged 18-25 years and the human factor contributes to 90-95% of events. The present study was carried out to determine the efficacity of the ECARR2 recurrence prevention program among adolescents and young adults at high risk of having a new traffic crash in the following months. A total of 288 participants having had a traffic crash that required going to the emergency room, at high risk of accident recurrence (ECARR≥5) were randomly allocated to either the intervention group ( = 144) or the control group ( = 144).

This study aimed to evaluate different serological strategies for the postnatal diagnosis of congenital toxoplasmosis (CT) and establish a biological algorithm for CT diagnosis. The study analyzed serological data of immunoglobulins M, A, and G (IgM, IgA, IgG) performed by immunoenzymatic and compared immunological profile (CIP) assays in 668 newborns with CT diagnosis across four testing periods: P1 (D0- D10), P2 (D11-D35), P3 (D36-D45), and P4 (>D45). Forty-nine percent of the 668 CT cases were diagnosed during P1 and 34%, 4%, and 12% during P2, P3, and P4, respectively.

Symmetrical and dissymmetrical bolaforms were prepared with good to high yields from unsaturated L-rhamnosides and phenolic esters (ferulic, phloretic, coumaric, sinapic and caffeic) using two eco-compatible synthetic strategies involving glycosylation, enzymatic synthesis and cross-metathesis under microwave activation. The plant-eliciting activity of these new compounds was investigated in Arabidopsis model plants. We found that the monocatenar rhamnosides and bolaforms activate the plant immune system with a response depending on the carbon chain length and the nature of the hydrophilic heads.

Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy indications are broadened in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) although immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) do not provide benefits for the entire population. Texture features based on positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), especially entropy (based on a gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM)), could be interesting as predictors in NSCLC. The aim of our retrospective study was to evaluate the association between GLCM-entropy and response to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 monotherapy at the first evaluation in stage III or IV NSCLC, comparing patients with progressive disease (PD) and non-progressive disease (non-PD).

Background: Neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) are among the leading cause of perioperative anaphylaxis, and most of these reactions are IgE mediated. Allergic sensitisation induced by environmental exposure to other quaternary ammonium-containing compounds, such as pholcodine, has been suggested. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between pholcodine exposure and NMBA-related anaphylaxis.

Vitamin C is one of the most sensitive cosmetic active ingredients. To avoid its degradation, its encapsulation into biobased carriers such as dendrimers is one alternative of interest. In this work, we wanted to evaluate the potential of two biobased glycerodendrimer families (GlyceroDendrimers-Poly(AmidoAmine) (GD-PAMAMs) or GlyceroDendrimers-Poly(Propylene Imine) (GD-PPIs)) as a vitamin C carrier for topical application.

Purpose: The primary objective was to determine whether the analysis of textural heterogeneity of vestibular schwannomas on MRI at diagnosis was predictive of their radiological evolutivity. The secondary objective was to determine whether some clinical or radiological factors could also be predictive of growth.
Methods: We conducted a pilot, observational and retrospective study of patients with a vestibular schwannoma, initially monitored, between April 2001 and November 2019 within the Oto-Neurosurgical Institute of Champagne Ardenne, Texture analysis was performed on gadolinium injected T1 and CISS T2 MRI sequences and six parameters were extracted: mean greyscale intensity, standard deviation of the greyscale histogram distribution, entropy, mean positive pixels, skewness and kurtosis, which were analysed by the Lasso method, using statistically penalised Cox models.

The subject of this narrative review is macrotrabecular-massive hepatocellular carcinoma (MTM-HCC). Despite their rarity, these tumours are of general interest because of their epidemiological and clinical features and for representing a distinct model of the interaction between the angiogenetic system and neoplastic cells. The MTM-HCC subtype is associated with various adverse biological and pathological parameters (the Alfa-foetoprotein (AFP) serum level, tumour size, vascular invasion, and satellite nodules) and is a key determinant of patient prognosis, with a strong and independent predictive value for early and overall tumour recurrence.
