Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play fundamental roles in various biological and chemical processes in nature and industries, including cell signaling, disease development and aging, immune defenses, environmental remediation, pharmaceutical syntheses, metal corrosion, energy production, etc. As such, their detection is of paramount importance, but their accurate identification and quantification are technically challenging due to their transient nature with short lifetimes and low steady-state concentrations. As a highly sensitive and selective analytical technique, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is promising for detecting ROS in real-time, enabling in situ monitoring of ROS-involved electrochemical and biochemical events with exceptional resolution.

Extensive postmastectomy defects and soft-tissue defects often require some additional flap cover of reconstruction after excision. The reconstruction aim in this group should be a diligent and easy closure with a quality skin cover, early recovery, and brief stay in hospital so that the patients can receive early postoperative radiotherapy/chemotherapy. Medially based abdominal transposition flap is a type C fasciocutaneous flap based on medial perforating vessels.

The addition of durvalumab consolidation to concurrent chemoradiation therapy (cCRT) has fundamentally changed the standard of care for patients with unresectable stage III non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Nevertheless, concerns related to esophagitis and pneumonitis potentially impact the broad application of all regimen components. A Canadian expert working group (EWG) was convened to provide guidance to healthcare professionals (HCPs) managing these adverse events (AEs) and to help optimize the patient experience.

Early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC), recognized as a distinct subgroup with an increased incidence over the past two decades, characterized by its aggressive nature and potentially unique molecular factors that differentiate it from traditional colorectal cancer (CRC). In this study, we investigated differentially expressed genes in a young-CRC patient using paired-end mRNA-sequencing. Validation of target genes through qRT-PCR highlighted a significant increase in SERPINA3 levels in EOCRC, representing a novel finding.
