Since the outbreak of the new coronavirus, point-of-care diagnostics based on nucleic acid testing have become a requirement for the development of pathogen diagnostics, which require the ability to accurately, rapidly, and conveniently detect pathogens. Conventional nucleic acid amplification techniques no longer meet the requirements for pathogen detection in low-resource, low-skill environments because they require specialist equipment, complex operations, and long detection times. Therefore, recombinant polymerase amplification (RPA) is becoming an increasingly important method in today's nucleic acid detection technology because it can amplify nucleic acids in 20-30 minutes at a constant temperature, greatly reducing the dependence on specialist equipment and technicians.

This commentary article responds to the research into development of medical specialist enterprises (MSEs) in the Netherlands conducted by Ubels and van Raaij. The MSEs are a relatively new phenomenon in the Netherlands and similar conceptually to medically-led developments in other health systems. With the foundation for medical specialist organisation in place this provides several opportunities for further development.

Background: The therapeutic alliance is an important predictor of treatment outcomes but people who use alcohol and other drugs report mixed views of treatment providers. We analysed patients' accounts of inpatient detoxification staff to ascertain whether, and if so how, relationships with them, and thus the therapeutic alliance, might be improved.
Methods: Semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted (in 2022/2023) with 20 people (14 males; 6 females) who had just completed inpatient detoxification in sixteen different facilities.

Background: Nigeria faces a critical shortage of healthcare professionals yet experiences a significant annual exodus of doctors and dentists. This alarming trend threatens the country's ability to provide equitable healthcare.
Objective: This study investigated the patterns and determinants of migration among doctors and dentists who graduated from the University of Benin, Nigeria, 15 years ago.
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the clinical utility of the androgen deprivation therapy (ADT)+docetaxel (DOCE)+androgen receptor-targeted agent (ARTA) triplet therapy in patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) in the UK.
Design: A modified Delphi method. A steering group of eight UK healthcare professionals experienced in prostate cancer care discussed treatment challenges, developing 39 consensus statements across four topics.

Background: Limited data are available on the impact of specialist palliative care on end-of-life care quality for patients with hematologic malignancies. This study aims to analyze the quality of end-of-life care in patients with hematological malignancies, comparing those who receive palliative care with those who do not.
Methods: Observational, single center retrospective study.

Unlabelled: The growing interest in complementary interventions for stroke recovery necessitates the need for neural insights to aid in making evidence-based clinical decisions. This systematic review examined the brain activation effects of complementary therapies, including acupuncture ( = 5), motor imagery therapy (MIT) ( = 5), music ( = 3), and virtual reality (VR) interventions ( = 3), on clinical outcomes and neural activity in stroke patients. All therapies engaged motor and sensory networks, frontal regions, parietal regions, and temporal regions, suggesting their potential to improve motor control, attention, memory, and cognitive function.

Background And Objectives: Disorders of coenzyme Q (CoQ) biosynthesis comprise a group of 11 clinically and genetically heterogeneous rare primary mitochondrial diseases. We sought to delineate clinical, biochemical, and neuroimaging features of these disorders, together with outcomes after oral CoQ supplementation and the utility of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMNC) CoQ levels in monitoring therapy.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study, registered as an audit at a specialist pediatric hospital (Registration Number: 3318) of 14 patients with genetically confirmed CoQ biosynthesis deficiency, including 13 previously unreported cases.

Study Objectives: Obesity-related health data is needed for studies and precision medicine, but existing registers, medical chart systems, and digital platforms are seldom compatible. Before creating improved ways of sharing health data, this study aimed to gather opinions, experiences, and wishes from stakeholders that may use obesity-related health data: healthcare, researchers, people with overweight or obesity, the pharmaceutical industry, and IT-specialists.
Methods: We performed semistructured interviews with 28 stakeholders and analyzed qualitative text data with inductive content analysis.

Objective: Effective child abuse intervention requires understanding its prevalence. While obtaining a comprehensive national estimate of child abuse cases is challenging, sentinel injuries-minor yet unusual injuries like bruises or wounds in pre-cruising-age children-can provide an indicative measure. Using the National Emergency Department Information System (NEDIS) data, this study aimed to gauge the prevalence of sentinel injuries using diagnostic codes in children under 12 months who visited emergency centers in South Korea and to evaluate the extent of child abuse screening in these cases.
