Background: Healthcare systems worldwide face challenges related to patient safety, quality of care, and interprofessional collaboration. Simulation-based team training has emerged as a promising approach to address some of these challenges by providing healthcare professionals with a controlled and safe environment to enhance their teamwork and communication skills. The purpose of this study protocol is to describe an intervention using simulation-based team training in pediatric departments.

Introduction: A total of 10% of older individuals harbour adrenal incidentalomas and need dedicated adrenal CT to exclude malignancy and biochemical evaluation. These investigations tax medical resources, and diagnostic delay may cause anxiety for the patient. We implemented a no-need-to-see pathway (NNTS) in which low-risk patients only attend the clinic if adrenal CT or hormonal evaluation is abnormal.

Aims: The pathophysiological effects of chronic right ventricular pacing and the role of right ventricular lead position are not well understood. Therefore, we investigated the association between left ventricular contractile dyssynchrony and pacing-induced cardiomyopathy (PICM) in patients with chronic right ventricular pacing. Furthermore, we assessed the association between right ventricular lead location and left ventricular contractile dyssynchrony.

Observational studies indicate a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and an increased risk of venous and arterial thrombotic events, but the underlying mechanisms behind this association are uncertain. This systematic review explores if there is an association between decreased vitamin D levels and a prothrombotic profile. The systematic literature search initially identified 3,214 studies (published until December 21, 2021) investigating the relationship between vitamin D and numerous hemostatic parameters.

Background: Acute fatty liver of pregnancy is a rare but serious complication in the last trimester of pregnancy or postpartum period. Data on the recurrence risk are largely unavailable, as only case reports or very small case series exist in which only 1 woman had recurrent acute fatty liver of pregnancy.
Objective: We aimed to estimate the risk of acute fatty liver of pregnancy recurrence and to compare disease severity and gestational age between primary and recurrent disease using patient-provided data from an acute fatty liver of pregnancy social media patient group.

Background: A substantial number of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) patients experience dyspnea on exertion and limited exercise capacity despite surgically successful pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA). We sought to prospectively evaluate resting and peak exercise hemodynamics before, 3 and 12 months after PEA in consecutive CTEPH-patients and correlate it to physical functional capacity.
Methods And Results: Twenty consecutive CTEPH-patients were examined.

Background: When determining optimal treatment regimens, patient reported outcomes including satisfaction are increasingly appreciated. It is well established that the birth experience may affect the postnatal attachment to the newborn and the management of subsequent pregnancies and deliveries. As we have no robust validated Danish tool to evaluate the childbirth experience exists, we aimed to perform a transcultural adaptation of the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) to a Danish context.

Introduction And Purpose: Dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DA-CPR) increases the rate of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). DA-CPR is recommended by resuscitation councils globally and it has been shown that the general public expects to receive pre-arrival instructions while waiting for help. A scientific advisory from the American Heart Association identifies standardized and structured DA-CPR protocols as important to increase bystander CPR rates.

Background: Right ventricular (RV) afterload in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is associated with reduced myocardial contractility and ventriculoarterial coupling. The impact of increased afterload on RV myocardial deformation was assessed by comparing the characteristics of CTEPH patients to healthy controls at baseline, and by comparing characteristics of CTEPH patients before and 12 months after pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA).
Methods: Cardiac deformation and function of CTEPH patients (n = 20) and healthy controls (n = 20) were assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR).

Aims: To characterize right ventricular (RV) geometry and function in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) patients at rest and during exercise before pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PEA), and at 3 and 12 months after PEA using two-dimensional and three-dimensional echocardiography with reference to clinical performance and exercise capacity.
Methods And Results: Forty subjects (20 CTEPH patients and 20 controls) were enrolled between December 2014 and January 2017. Three-dimensional echocardiography demonstrated a significant reduction and normalization of end-diastolic and end-systolic RV volumes in CTEPH patients 12 months after PEA.

Introduction: Resuscitation training increases bystander's ability to perform basic life support (BLS) with an automated external defibrillator (AED) immediately after training. However, several studies indicate that resuscitation skills decay rapidly.
Methods: This study evaluates retention of BLS/AED skills three months after an initial study comparing acquisition of BLS/AED skills among laypersons immediately after training with a two-stage versus four-stage teaching technique.

Purpose: Oxygen supplementation has previously been considered beneficial when managing critically ill patients in order to avoid hypoxia. However, in recent years, studies have shown that hyperoxia may be harmful in critical care patients. The aim of the study was to investigate whether hyperoxia within the first 24 hours of admission following major trauma is associated with 30-day in-hospital mortality.

Background: In most Western countries, obstetricians and midwives induce labour in about 25% of pregnant women. Oxytocin is an effective drug for this purpose, but associated with serious adverse effects of which uterine tachysystole, fetal distress and the need for immediate delivery are the most common. Various administration regimens such as reduced or pulsatile dosing have been suggested to minimise these.

Background: Cardiac arrest carries a poor prognosis. The typical cardiac arrest patient is comorbid, and studies have shown that diabetes mellitus is an independent risk factor for increased mortality after cardiac arrest. Despite this, animal studies lack to investigate cardiac arrest in the setting of diabetes mellitus.

Introduction: In 2011, the St. Gallen Consensus Conference introduced the use of pathology to define the intrinsic breast cancer subtypes by application of immunohistochemical (IHC) surrogate markers ER, PR, HER2 and Ki67 with a specified Ki67 cutoff (>14%) for luminal B-like definition. Reports concerning impaired reproducibility of Ki67 estimation and threshold inconsistency led to the initiation of this quality assurance study (2013-2015).

Recent trends in use of antihypertensive drugs are unknown. From Danish nationwide prescription data, we obtained information on primary care use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, beta blockers, diuretics, aldosterone receptor antagonists, and calcium channel blockers. During 1999 to 2015, the use of antihypertensive drugs per 1,000 inhabitants/day increased from 184 to 379 defined daily doses (DDD), corresponding to a rise in the prevalence proportion of users from ≈20% to ≈35%.
