BACKGROUND Congenital malformations of the alimentary tract constitute 5% to 6% of newborn anomalies, with congenital intestinal atresia being a common cause of alimentary tract obstruction. This study explores advanced ultrasound diagnostic possibilities, including 2D, HDlive, HDlive inversion, and HDlive silhouette imaging modes, through the analysis of 3 cases involving duodenal and intestinal obstructions. Congenital malformations of the alimentary tract often present challenges in prenatal diagnosis.

The relationship between various factors predisposing to the formation of spondylolisthesis, including degenerative spondylolisthesis, has been analyzed by many authors. Objective: Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator is the core medical therapy of acute ischaemic stroke (AIS). COVID-19 infection negatively modifies acute stroke procedures and, due to its pro-coagulative effect, may potentially impact on IVT outcome. Thus, short-term efficacy and safety of IVT were compared in patients with and without evidence of SARS-CoV-2.

To evaluate the antioxidant activity of potential synthetic enzyme mimetics, we prepared new five copper(II) complexes via a self-assembly method and named them [Cu(2-(HOCH)py)](ClO) (), [Cu(2-(HOCH)py)(HO)]SiF (), [Cu(2-(HOCHCH)py)(2-(OCHCH)py)](ClO) (), [Cu(pyBIm)](BF)·1.5HO () and [Cu(pyC(OH))](ClO) (). The synthetic protocol involved N,O- or N,N-donors: 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine (2-(HOCH)py), 2-(hydroxyethyl)pyridine (2-(HOCHCH)py), 2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazole (pyBIm), di(2-pyridyl)ketone (pyCO).

Symptomatic Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is an acute inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract, manifesting in at least 3 unformed stools within 24 hours. Predicting factors for CDI include contact with medical care (mainly hospitalization), antibiotic therapy in the last 12 weeks, use of proton pump inhibitors (PPI), H2 blockers, cancer chemotherapy, especially in the neutropenia stage, gastrointestinal surgery, advanced age and concomitant chronic diseases (renal failure, liver failure, chronic inflammatory bowel disease - especially ulcerative bowel disease, cancer, HIV infection, cachexia and hypoalbuminaemia) and vitamin D deficiency. Clinical classification distinguishes three types of CDI - mild / moderate, severe, and fulminant.

Children who have survived cancer are at risk of experiencing adverse effects of the cancer or its treatments. One of the adverse effects may be the limitation of ankle dorsiflexion (DF), which may result in "toe walking." Although there is an increasing number of studies in pediatric oncology presenting evidences of different therapeutic interventions to improve DF function, none of these therapeutic interventions has been sufficiently documented.
