Introduction: The word 'luting' is derived from a latin word 'Lutum' which means 'mud'. 'Luting' is a word that is often used to describe the use of a mouldable substance to seal a space or to cement two components together. Therefore in view of the clinical importance of dissolution of luting cements in the oral environment, an in vitro study was designed to compare the sorption and solubility of commercially available luting cements mainly zinc phosphate, Glass Ionomer cement, Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement and Resin Cement after immersion in artificial saliva of different ph values of 5 and 7.

  • The study aimed to compare the clinical and functional outcomes of two types of neck dissection (selective vs. superselective) in patients with N0 neck, focusing on shoulder function, recurrence rates, and quality of life.
  • A randomized trial with 20 adult patients was conducted, assessing arm abduction and quality of life before and after surgery, with follow-up for locoregional recurrence over 2.5 years.
  • Results indicated that superselective neck dissection led to better shoulder function, higher quality of life scores, and lower recurrence rates compared to selective neck dissection.

Fractured endodontic instrument is an unfortunate endodontic mishap which may obstruct thorough cleaning and shaping of the root canals with potential impact on the endodontic prognosis and treatment outcome. When the fractured segment lies apical to canal curvature, overzealous removal of tooth structure is required to gain access to the separated segment which in turn increases the likelihood of root fracture. In infected cases, the stage at which instrument separation occurs is crucial as root canal disinfection is jeopardized.
