Background: Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) in patients with post-coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) has a high diagnostic accuracy for visualization of grafts. Invasive coronary angiography (ICA) in patients with CABG is associated with increased procedural time, contrast agent administration, radiation exposure, and complications, compared with non-CABG patients. The aim of this multicenter, randomized controlled trial was to compare the strategy of CCTA-guided ICA versus classic ICA in patients with prior CABG.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate longitudinal changes in Ki-67 indices of SI-NETs and assess the impact of these in overall survival (OS).
Methods: We screened 551 patients with SI-NETs diagnosed from 1993, through 2021, identified using the SI-NET databases from five European referral centres. Only patients with well-differentiated tumours and available baseline tumour samples and follow-up re-biopsies were included.

Objective: The aim of this study was compare elective surgical repair of popliteal artery aneurysms (PAAs) via a posterior approach vs. endovascular exclusion, analysing early and five year outcomes in a multicentre retrospective study.
Methods: Between January 2010 and December 2023, a retrospectively maintained dataset of all consecutive asymptomatic PAAs that underwent open repair with posterior approach or endovascular repair in 37 centres was investigated.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men, with many treatment modalities available for patients, such as radical prostatectomy, external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, high-intensity focused ultrasound, cryotherapy, electroporation and other whole-gland or focal ablative novel techniques. Unfortunately, up to 60% of men with prostate cancer experience recurrence at 5 to 10 years. Salvage radical prostatectomy can be offered as an option in the setting of recurrence after a primary non-surgical treatment.

People living with HIV-HCV co-infection comprise a target group for HCV-micro-elimination. We conducted an HCV cascade of care (CoC) for HIV-HCV co-infected individuals living in Greece and investigated factors associated with different HCV-CoC stages. We analyzed data from 1213 participants from the Athens Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study.

This prospective observational study investigates the impact of cataract surgery on anterior segment parameters in nonglaucomatous and primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) eyes, utilizing anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT). The study involved 42 Caucasian patients, divided into a control group and a POAG group. Comprehensive ophthalmic examinations were performed along with AS-OCT imaging and biometry preoperatively, as well as on one day, one week, and one month following cataract surgery.

These growth abnormalities may lead to three main patterns of deformity: scoliosis (the most common), kyphosis or lordosis (the least common). Despite the recent improvements in imaging and the routine use of neuromonitoring in the surgical treatment of congenital kyphosis, this surgery may be associated with a high rate of complications such as neurologic deficit, pulmonary thromboembolic events, infection, deep vein thrombosis, implant failure, and dural injury.

Metastases outside the liver and abdominal/retroperitoneal lymph nodes are nowadays detected frequently in patients with neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), owing to the high sensitivity of positron emission tomography (PET) with Gallium-68-DOTA-somatostatin analogues (Ga-SSA) and concomitant diagnostic computed tomography (CT). Our aim was to determine the prevalence of extra-abdominal metastases on Ga-DOTATOC-PET/CT in a cohort of patients with small intestinal (Si-NET) and pancreatic NET (Pan-NET), as well as that of pancreatic metastasis in patients with Si-NET. Among 2090 patients examined by Ga-DOTATOC-PET/CT at two tertiary referral centres, a total of 1177 patients with a history of Si- or Pan-NET, were identified.

Context: One of the major prognostic indices in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) is Ki67 proliferation index.
Objective: To identify optimal grading Ki67 cutoffs to delineate differences in prognosis of patients with small intestinal NETs (SI-NETs).
Methods: Multicenter retrospective cohort analysis of 551 SI-NET patients diagnosed from 1993 through 2021 at 5 European referral centers with a mean (±SD) follow-up time of 51.

Purpose: To assess the impact of fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in the extent of surgery in patients with thyroid cancer (TC) and the associated surgical morbidity in primary and completion setting.
Methods: A Swedish nationwide cohort of patients having surgery for TC (n = 2519) from the Scandinavian Quality Register for Thyroid, Parathyroid and Adrenal surgery between 2004 and 2013 was obtained. Data was validated through scrutinizing FNAC and histology reports.

Objective: Despite the significant advances in healthcare, people living with HIV still face challenges that affect their quality of life (QoL), both in terms of their physical state as represented by frailty and of their illness perceptions (IP). The aim of this study was to unravel the associations between these constructs (QoL, frailty, IP).
Methods: This multicenter, cross-sectional study included 477 people living with HIV (93% male; median age = 43 years, IQR = 51.

The long-term impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is a critical public health concern. The presence of residual symptoms in COVID-19 survivors has been investigated with various results; however, there is limited data documenting outcomes longer than 6 months post-hospitalization. We aimed to investigate the 12-month lasting effects of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients.

As a result of social progress and improved living conditions, which have contributed to a prolonged life expectancy, the prevalence of strokes has increased and has become a significant phenomenon. Despite the available stroke treatment options, patients frequently suffer from significant disability after a stroke. Initial stroke severity is a significant predictor of functional dependence and mortality following an acute stroke.

Background: As a group with a high incidence of childhood trauma, the differential characteristics of resilience in schizophrenia and its relationship with childhood trauma are still unclear.
Methods: A total of 626 individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia were selected from four psychiatric hospitals in northern China. Childhood trauma and resilience were measured using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-short form (CTQ-SF) and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), respectively.

Pancreatic metastases (PMs) from neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are rare but the increased sensitivity of new diagnostic tools such as Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT has resulted in their increased recognition at initial diagnosis or follow-up. A retrospective analysis of the data of patients from six tertiary referral centres was performed in order to identify the characteristics and the prognostic significance of PMs in patients with NENs. We used a control group of 69 age-, sex- and primary tumour - matched NEN patients from the same cohort with stage IV disease but no PMs.

Introduction: Clinical disadvantages of initiating ART at low CD4 counts have been clearly demonstrated but whether any excess risk remains even after reaching relatively high/safe CD4 levels remains unclear. We explore whether individuals starting ART with <500 CD4 cells/μL who increased their CD4 count above this level, have, from this point onwards, similar risk of clinical progression to serious AIDS/non-AIDS events or death with individuals starting ART with ≥500 CD4 cells/μL.
Methods: Data were derived from a multicenter cohort (AMACS).

Background/aim: Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is an aggressive neoplasm even though it has low-grade histological appearance and slow growth. The aim of this study was to identify the immunohistochemical and molecular characteristics of ACC, as well as their correlation with the clinical course of patients.
Patients And Methods: This is a retrospective multicenter analysis.
