Introduction: The perineal body preserving posterior sagittal anorectoplasty (PSARP) (PPP) is a novel modification of the original PSARP for female patients with rectovestibular fistulas designed to eliminate the risk of perineal body dehiscence. This study aims to examine the outcomes following PPP.
Methods: A retrospective, single-institution study was performed examining female patients with rectovestibular fistula who underwent PPP between January /2020 and December 2023.

Background: This investigation investigates the anti-inflammatory and fibrinolytic effects of a cocktail of probiotics derived from traditional dairy products in a murine model of ulcerative colitis (UC).
Materials And Methods: A mix of newly isolated probiotics containing , and was characterized and orally administered to inbred eight-week-old C57BL/6 male mice (n = 6). Clinical symptoms, pathohistological changes, and inflammatory and fibrosis markers were analyzed in the existence and absence of probiotics in colitis mice.

Unlabelled: Disorders related to defaecation are widely common in the population and are often overlooked. Patients may present with a wide variety of symptoms such as constipation, faecal incontinence, painful defaecation, incomplete defaecation, hard stools, rectal bleeding, and mass per rectum. Complete clinical examination with radiological imaging, using dynamic MR Defaecography, can help in assessing, grading, and managing posterior compartment pelvic floor disorders and complex dysfunctions.

Background: The International Anorectal Physiology Working Group (IAPWG) suggests a standardized protocol to perform high-resolution anorectal manometry. The applicability and possible limitations of the IAPWG protocol in performing three-dimensional high-definition anorectal manometry (3D-ARM) have still to be extensively evaluated.
Methods: The IAPWG protocol was applied in performing 3D-ARM.

The event in which the entire thickness of the rectum protrudes through the anal canal is called rectal prolapse. This ailment is common in the elderly population and especially in females. It causes some disastrous symptoms, including incontinence to feces and flatus, constipation, and discomfort, because of the weakness in the anorectal junction, making it mandatory for surgical correction.

Hemorrhoidal disease is one of most common pathologies seen by colorectal and general surgeons. Although hemorrhoids themselves are a normal anatomic occurrence, development of symptomatic disease, usually due to bleeding, prolapse, or thrombosis, can cause significant patient distress. Acute presentation related to significant thrombosis or bleeding is referred to as acute hemorrhoidal crisis.

Aim: Rectal intussusception (RI) and external rectal prolapse (ERP) are associated with anal sphincter dysfunction. The aim of this study was to examine sphincter function with anal acoustic reflectometry (AAR) in RI and two distinct phenotypes of ERP termed high and low "take-off".
Methods: A prospective study of patients with RI and ERP attending a tertiary pelvic floor unit.

Background: Stapled hemorrhoidopexy (SH) is currently a widely accepted method for treating the prolapse of internal hemorrhoids. Postoperative anal stenosis is a critical complication of SH. A remedy for this involves the removal of the circumferential staples of the anastomosis, followed by the creation of a hand-sewn anastomosis.

Background: Resection rectopexy and ventral mesh rectopexy are widely accepted surgical options for the treatment of rectal prolapse; however, reports on long-term recurrence rates and functional outcomes are lacking.
Objective: We compared quality of life, long-term functional outcomes, and prolapse recurrence after resection rectopexy versus ventral mesh rectopexy.
Design: We retrospectively reviewed our prospectively collected rectal prolapse surgery database.

Pelvic floor disorders frequently occur as the result of excessive straining from chronic constipation or the trauma of vaginal childbirth, making them more common in women. We present a 62-year-old male with bladder prolapse through the anterior rectal wall in the setting of longstanding bladder holding behavior and excessive straining to void. We performed a novel robotic-assisted laparoscopic cystoprostosacropexy by anchoring the bladder and prostate to the sacrum to prevent bladder descent.

Rectal prolapse is a common disease in childhood and observed mainly at the age of 1-4 years old (95% of cases). If conservative treatment is ineffective, surgical correction of rectal prolapse in children without previous anorectal surgery is performed at the age of over a year. There is a single report on examination of patients aged 4-16 years after surgical correction of anorectal malformations with postoperative rectal prolapse.

The present case underscores the importance of considering primary signet-ring cell carcinoma in differential diagnoses for young patients with chronic anorectal symptoms. It highlights the need for a multidisciplinary treatment approach (including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy) and comprehensive follow-up for managing this challenging condition and improving long-term patient outcomes.
