Highly selective inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6is) have emerged as a standart of care for first- and second-line therapies in combination with endocrine therapy (ET) for HR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients. It has been reported that combination therapy is more effective than ET alone and is safe in elderly patients as well as young patients. Nevertheless, elderly and very old patients with HR+/HER2-MBC treated with CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) combinations are relatively underrepresented in randomized controlled trials.

Introduction: Despite screening, the incidence of breast cancer is increasing worldwide. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) response is one of the most important parameters taken into consideration in surgery, optimal adjuvant chemotherapy planning and prognosis prediction. Research on predictive markers for the response to NAC is still ongoing.

Purpose: To distinguish malignant and benign bowel wall thickening (BWT) by using computed tomography (CT) texture features based on machine learning (ML) models and to compare its success with the clinical model and combined model.
Methods: One hundred twenty-two patients with BWT identified on contrast-enhanced abdominal CT and underwent colonoscopy were included in this retrospective study. Texture features were extracted from CT images using LifeX software.

Background: As advocated in advanced trauma life support and prehospital trauma life support protocols, cervical immobilization is applied until cervical spine injury is excluded. This study aimed to show the difference in optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) between patients with and without a cervical collar using computed tomography (CT).
Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective study examining trauma patients who presented to the emergency department between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021.

Objective: Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a vascular disease that is most frequently diagnosed using the radiological imaging technique computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA). In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the diagnostic accuracy of the Hounsfield unit (HU) for PE based on the hypothesis that acute thrombosis causes an increase in HU value on CT.
Methods: This research was a single-center, retrospective study.

Revascularization treatments (IV thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy) related to ischemic stroke have developed in recent years. With devices such as NIRS, non-invasive monitoring of treatment efficacy is provided. In this study, we aimed to use near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) as an objective monitoring method to see the effect of intravenous (IV) thrombolysis or mechanical thrombectomy treatments applied for cerebral oxygenation in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Current guidelines recommend individualizing the choice and duration of P2Y inhibitor therapy based on the trade-off between bleeding and ischemic risk. However, whether a potent P2Y inhibitor (ticagrelor) or a less potent one (clopidogrel) is more appropriate in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in the setting of high bleeding or ischemic risk is not clear. The study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of clopidogrel and ticagrelor in patients with ACS at high bleeding or ischemic risk.

Introduction: While poor oral hygiene has been previously associated with an increased risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), its association with hepatic fibrosis remains unclear. Here, we sought to analyze if toothbrushing frequency, an easy-to-assess indicator of oral health habits, would be associated with liver stiffness measurement (LSM) by transient elastography (TE) in patients with an established diagnosis of NAFLD.
Methods: In this registry-based study, LSM was measured in 1,156 patients with NAFLD and analyzed in relation to the self-reported daily frequency of toothbrushing.

Background: Thoracic and abdominal computed tomography scans are widely used modalities for trauma patients in emergency department (ED). However, alternative diagnostic and follow-up tools are also needed, due to limitations such as high cost and exces-sive radiation exposure. This study aimed to investigate the utility of repeated extended focused abdominal sonography for trauma (rE-FAST) performed by the emergency physician in patients with stable blunt thoracoabdominal trauma.
