Background: In emergency settings, medication dosages are primarily determined based on the child's weight; however, the healthcare personnel sometimes may have to make the first intervention without knowing the patient's weight, which may result in an underdose or overdose of the medication. We aimed to find a reliable method to estimate children's bodyweight, including the obese and malnourished.
Methods: We conducted the study with children between the ages of 3 and 17 years.

We evaluated the effects of human-derivated amniotic membrane on tendon healing, adhesions, angiogenesis, and the inflammatory process.
Methods: Thirty-five rats were divided evenly into five groups, and the left lower extremity was used in this study.

Objective: Semaphorin 5A (SEMA 5A) is a neuroprotein that regulates the formation of excitatory synapses between neurons, important in autoimmunity, inflammatory processes and behaviors. This study aimed to investigate the SEMA 5A levels in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) diagnosed for the first time and evaluate the relationship of disease and disease severity with the blood SEMA 5A level and hemogram.
Methods: More than 41,465 patients who applied to the psychiatry clinic from January 2018 to December 2020 were evaluated according to the DSM-5 criteria; 57 patients diagnosed with OCD for the first time, who met the inclusion criteria, were included in the study.
Objectives Head and neck soft tissue sarcomas (HNSTSs) are a heterogeneous group of rare tumors. Surgical resection with negative margins remains the standard primary treatment for patients with HNSTS. The role of chemotherapy (CT) and radiotherapy (RT) remains controversial.

Ganglioneuromas (GNs) are well-differentiated, rare benign tumors of neural crest origin and are, for the most part, considered to be the benign equivalent of neuroblastomas. There are very few cases of GN reported to be at presacral location in the literature. The standard form of treatment is the total surgical excision.

Purpose: To evaluate ocular biometric changes in healthy subjects after caffeine consumption from a cup of coffee.
Methods: A total of 36 subjects were included in this prospective observational study. Axial length (AL) and anterior segment parameters including aqueous depth (AD), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), and central corneal thickness (CCT) were measured with optic biometry, Lenstar LS 900 (Haag-Streit, Inc.

Purpose: To investigate whether postvoiding residual bladder volume (PVR) and uroflowmetry parameters associate with bladder sensation in male patients with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) and to find out the reliable time of these examinations.
Materials And Methods: Sixty men with bladder outlet obstruction underwent transabdominal ultrasound in order to measure postvoiding residual volume and uroflowmetry. At the first day, PVR was measured while the patients had mild bladder sensation.

Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between left ventricular (LV) function, cytokine levels and site of myocardial infarction (MI) in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
Methods: Sixty patients undergoing CABG were divided into three groups (n = 20) according to their history of site of myocardial infarction (MI): no previous MI, anterior MI and posterior/inferior MI. In the pre-operative period, detailed analysis of LV function was done by transthoracic echocardiography.

Purpose: To compare subfoveal choroidal thicknesses (ChTs) of anisometropic hyperopic amblyopic, hyperopic nonamblyopic, and emmetropic control eyes and to investigate the associations between ChT and ambylopia, spherical equivalent (SE), and axial length in the pediatric population.
Methods: Forty-six hyperopic nonamblyopic (hyperopic group), 33 anisometropic hyperopic amblyopic (amblyopic group), and 42 emmetropic (emmetropic group) eyes were enrolled in this cross-sectional comparative study. Enhanced depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography was used for quantitative analysis of subfoveal ChT.

Purpose: Recent studies have found a choroidal thickening in amblyopic eyes and suggested that there might be a relationship between the choroid and amblyopia. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of a six-month treatment of amblyopia on choroidal thickness in anisometropic hyperopic amblyopic children.
Methods: Thirty-two anisometropic hyperopic children with unilateral amblyopia were included in this prospective study.

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of hypothyroidism on femoral cartilage thickness by using ultrasound, which has been found to be useful in the early diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis. [Subjects and Methods] Forty patients diagnosed with hypothyroidism and 30 age-, gender-, smoking status, physical activity-, and body mass index-matched healthy subjects were enrolled. The thickness of the femoral articular cartilage was measured using a 7- to 12-MHz linear probe.

Objective: In this study, the livers of rats born to mothers exposed to electromagnetic field (EMF) were examined 60 days postpartum for biochemical and histopathological changes.
Methods: Pregnant rats were exposed to radiation (900 MHz EMF, 24 h/day for 20 days) using a digital signal generator by placing the device centrally under the cage, which formed the study (EMF) group, while untreated matching rats served as controls. Livers and blood were obtained from litters (seven males and seven females) of both groups 60 days after birth, which were used for biochemical and histopathological analyses.
Acute fulminant myocarditis is a life-threatening inflammatory disease of the myocardium characterized by the rapid deterioration of the hemodynamic status of the affected individual. With prompt recognition and appropriate management, complete recovery of ventricular function is likely within a few weeks. We introduce a 28-year-old man with acute fulminant myocarditis, who experienced circulatory collapse following acute angina and dyspnea.

Purpose: To report 2-year outcomes of transepithelial high-intensity cross-linking (CXL) procedure in the treatment of patients with progressive keratoconus.
Methods: Forty-eight eyes of 48 consecutive progressive keratoconus patients who underwent transepithelial accelerated CXL procedure were enrolled in the study. Each patient underwent pre- and postoperative comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations including determination of refractive error as spherical equivalent (SE) and corrected distant visual acuity (CDVA), slit lamp biomicroscopic examination, fundoscopy, and a detailed analysis on a Scheimplug+Placido device (Sirius, CSO, Florence, Italy).

Background: The aim was to compare the choroidal thickness (ChT) of myopic children's eyes with that of emmetropes to determine whether there are associations between ChT, axial length and spherical equivalent (SE) in a paediatric population.
Methods: A total of 117 eyes of 117 children including 53 myopic eyes (myopic group) and 64 emmetropic eyes (emmetropic group) were enrolled in this cross-sectional comparative study. ChT was analysed by using the HD 5 Line Raster scan protocol of spectral domain enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography.

Design: Patients with shoulder impingement syndrome were divided into 3 groups as follows: NSAID group (n = 33), kinesiotaping group (kinesiotaping + NSAID) (n = 33), and injection group (subacromial corticosteroid injection + NSAID) (n = 33). Outcome measures including visual analog scale, shoulder ranges of motion, Shoulder Disability Questionnaire, and University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) scale were evaluated before and after the treatment (fourth week).
