The present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic potential of Osmundacetone (Osu), a natural plant product, for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The study revealed that Osu effectively reduced arthritis-induced swelling and bone destruction, as well as alleviating inflammation-related factors and oxidative stress in animal models. We focused the mechanism exploration on its regulatory mechanism on osteoclastogenesis in the next investigation.

Introduction Understanding standard changes in C-reactive protein (CRP) after Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is important for early detection of septic arthritis. Methods We conducted a prospective two-center comparative study to clarify changes in postoperative CRP levels after ACLR, as well as factors that influence the changes, in a large sample of Asian patients. A total of 439 ACLR cases were included in this study.

This study aims to report a case of progressive pseudorheumatoid dysplasia (PPRD) with two kinds of cellular communication network factor 6 (CCN6) gene mutation. In this paper, the clinical profile and the process of diagnosis were analyzed, and the related literature was reviewed. A 15-year-old boy, who developed progressive ankle and hip joint pain and enlargement with spine involvement, was diagnosed with PPRD.

Objectives: The objectives of this study are to identify a therapeutic serum level for adalimumab associated with remission and low disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Methods: Associations between serum adalimumab trough levels and disease activity were examined using longitudinal data from a 48-week randomised phase III trial including patients with tumour necrosis factor inhibitor-naïve rheumatoid arthritis with active disease starting adalimumab treatment. Disease activity was classified according to 28-joint Disease Activity Score (DAS28)-erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C reactive protein (CRP) levels.

Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine(TCM-WM) for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD).
Materials And Methods: An independent search of electronic databases (PubMed, Excerpta Medica Database, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, OVID Medline, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Data, VIP Data databases, and China Biology Medicine disc) from inception to June 25, 2024 was performed to identify studies treating RA-ILD that used combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment compared to Western medicine. Two researchers independently audited each article, and the quality was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool 2 and the modified Jadad.

Septic arthritis and reactive arthritis are both recognized as distinct causes of swollen joints; however, they can, at times, overlap as causes of acute polyarthritis. Septic arthritis is an orthopedic emergency, typically caused by bacterial infection, and requires urgent antibiotic treatment and joint drainage to prevent irreversible joint damage. In contrast, reactive arthritis is a sterile, immune-mediated arthritis that occurs following infections and is managed with anti-inflammatory treatments such as corticosteroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Background: Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) represents the most common extra-articular manifestation of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and is a major cause of mortality. This study aims to identify and evaluate biomarkers associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis-Associated Interstitial Lung Disease (RA-ILD).
Methods: We searched PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases for studies related to biomarkers of RA-ILD up until October 7, 2023.

Background: 20-40% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) present an extra-articular manifestation (EAM) and 1-20% a severe EAM, with an increased risk of death (> 2 times). The associated lesions are: 27.5% rheumatoid nodules, and 0.

Aim: To investigate whether the radiographic progression of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) correlates with inflammatory markers and other laboratory values, and its association with treatment modalities.
Methods: This observational study included 125 patients with seropositive RA. Data were obtained from patients' medical records from the year of 2022.

Vitamin D levels have been related to the severity and progression of various autoimmune disorders. In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of genetic variability in the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene on disease susceptibility and progression in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treated with tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors. The study comprises 121 RA patients subjected to anti-TNF therapy genotyped for four VDR polymorphic variants: rs1544410 (I), rs2228570 (I), rs731236 (I), and rs7975232 (I).

The effectiveness of monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) and Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS28)-MCP-1 (DAS28-MCP-1) in assessing rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is unclear, although some studies have demonstrated their potential usefulness. The present study investigated relationships between MCP-1 and different DAS28 measures, the occurrence of residual swollen joints in different DAS28 remission statuses, changes in medication dosage in relation to the 2005 modified American Rheumatism Association and 2011 American College of Rheumatology/European League against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) remission definitions, and the correlations between different DAS28-related scores and Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index (HAQ-DI) scores in two RA patient cohorts. The results revealed that the MCP-1 level was correlated with five disease activity measures (DAS28-erythrocyte sedimentation rate [DAS28-ESR], DAS28-C-reactive protein [CRP], Simplified Disease Activity Index (SDAI), Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI), and DAS28-MCP-1) in multivariable regression analysis (all < 0.

Musculoskeletal disorders and age-related musculoskeletal decline are major contributors to the burden of ill health seen in older subjects. Despite this increased burden, these chronic disorders of old age receive a relatively small proportion of national research funds. Much has been learned about fundamental processes involved in ageing from basic science research and this is leading to identification of key pathways that mediate ageing which may help the search for interventions to reduce age-related musculoskeletal decline.
