This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of amino acid supplementation on the growth performance of broiler chicks challenged with coccidiosis. Data were collected on authorship, publication year, study sample characteristics and outcomes of interest related to growth performance. Effect sizes were calculated for both overall effects and the individual effects of each amino acid.

Background And Purpose: Depression is a growing public health concern worldwide, characterized by cognitive impairment and structural abnormalities of the hippocampus. Current antidepressant treatment sometimes causes the late onset of results and the much faster occurrence of side effects. For this reason, the interest in new treatment strategies including exercise and natural products such as curcumin has increased to treat depression.

Primary themes in intergenerational justice are a healthy environment, the perpetuation of Earth's biodiversity, and the sustainable management of the biosphere. However, the current rate of species declines globally, ecosystem collapses driven by accelerating and catastrophic global heating, and a plethora of other threats preclude the ability of habitat protection alone to prevent a cascade of amphibian and other species mass extinctions. Reproduction and advanced biotechnologies, biobanking of germplasm and somatic cells, and conservation breeding programs (RBCs) offer a transformative change in biodiversity management.

Bone tissue engineering is a promising approach to overcome the limitations of traditional autograft bone transplantation. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have been suggested as an enhancement for osteogenic differentiation. This study aimed to investigate the ability of the fibrin hydrogel scaffold in the presence of graphene quantum dots to promote osteogenic differentiation of human Wharton's jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hWJ-MSCs).

Background: Sulfonamides are widely used carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (CAIs) in clinical settings, however, their nonspecific inhibition of multiple carbonic anhydrase isoforms can lead to reduced efficacy and side effects. This study aimed to develop sulfanilamide-diazo derivatives incorporating benzoic acid moieties as novel inhibitors of hCA II activity to reduce side effects and enhance selectivity for different CA isozymes.
Methods: We investigated the interaction between these derivatives and the hCA II isozyme via various spectroscopic and docking methods.
We provide the first diversity assessment of Iranian species of the genus Asaccus based on COI DNA-barcoding. We analyzed 53 samples of Iranian Asaccus representing nine OTU corresponding to 10 currently recognzied nominal species, and evaluated both morphological and genetic data to support the recognition of a new species from Bandar-e Jask, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran-Asaccus authenticus sp. nov.

Moreover, since these checklist were published, several ladybird species have been added to the Iranian fauna and several previously reported have been excluded. We therefore compiled an updated checklist of Coccinellidae found in Iran and its individual provinces based on available literature and previously unpublished records.

Within this research, a one-stage hybrid dual internal circulation airlift A2O (DCAL-A2O) bioreactor was designed and operated to simultaneously remove carbon, nitrogen and phosphorous (CNP) from milk processing wastewater (MPW) in different operational circumstances. The substantial operating variables monitored in this work were including hydraulic retention time (HRT), airflow rate (AFR) and aeration volume ratio (AVR) ranged from 7 to 15 h, 1-3 L/min and 0.324-0.

The present study evaluated the effects of 1α-hydroxycholecalciferol (1αOHD) supplementation on performance, egg quality, gut morphology, serum metabolites, and bone characteristics of Lohman LSL-Lite laying hens. A total of 180 birds (110 weeks of age) were allocated according to a completely randomized design with five treatments. Each treatment had six replicates containing six hens each.

Objectives: The role of serum cholesterol and its interactions with cytokines in human cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) pathophysiology is unknown. This study aimed to evaluate the correlation among serum total cholesterol (TC), very-low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), triglycerides (TG) and cytokines (including interleukin [IL] 10), IL-12 and tumour necrosis factor-alpha [TNF-α]) in CL. The cholesterol-cytokine network was analysed to illuminate the pathogenesis of CL.
