Obesity is related to liver fibrosis, a condition marked by the collection of scar tissue in the liver due to the development of a profibrotic environment, which includes increased hepatocellular death and elevated reactive oxygen species production. The aim of study is to evaluate the effect of bariatric surgery on the association between liver fibrosis indices and obesity. This is a retrospective cohort, evaluating 1205 individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and living with obesity, who experienced bariatric surgery.

Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center (EMRC), Vali-Asr Hospital, School of Medicine, Tehran, Iran. Electronic address:
Background: Bariatric surgery has profound effects on weight loss, metabolic regulation, and gut hormone modulation, which make it an efficient tool for managing obesity and improving diabetes outcomes.
Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the atherogenic indices, including atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), atherogenic coefficient (AC), Castelli's risk index II (CRI-II), and lipoprotein combine index (LCI) in individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2D) living with excess weight, who have undergone bariatric surgery.
Setting: Three types of surgery including one-anastomosis gastric bypass/mini gastric bypass (OAGB/MGB), sleeve gastrectomy (SG), and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) were performed on patients with obesity and T2D in the period of August 2009 to February 2021 at the Surgical Department of Hazrat-e Rasool Hospital (University Hospital), Tehran, Iran.

Purpose: Using a single percentile chart provides us with high standards for the evaluation and accurate investigation of sufficient weight loss after bariatric surgery, counseling, and treating patients in an evidence-based way. Creating percentile charts of weight loss for gastric bypass is the aim of this study.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study was based on data from patients who underwent RYGB or OAGB from February 2008 to February 2020.

Introduction: Obesity is a serious situation that leads to non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and others. The prevalence of obesity is growing very fast worldwide, so follow the results bariatric surgery, the most effective treatment of obesity, is increasing. Portomesentric vein thrombosis (PMVT) is one of the rare, fatal post-bariatric complications seen most commonly in sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.

Introduction: Multidisciplinary care after bariatric surgery is essential for long-term safety and optimal weight loss. However, many patients do not participate in routine postoperative follow-ups. We have explored the determinants of patients' adherence to scheduled follow-up visits after bariatric surgery.

Aim: To explore biomarkers with a tumor stage-dependent expression pattern in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC).
Background: The fourth most common cancer in the world is colorectal cancer (CRC). A variation in the gene expression rate is a common change in cancers initiation and the accumulation of these variation changes the behavior of normal cells and turns them into cancer cells.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the biological function of pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductase domain 1 (PYROXD1), a recently discovered protein, in colon cancer cell line HCT116.
Methods: The small interfering RNA (siRNA) was designed rationally on the basis of the target sequence against PYROXD1. Relative PYROXD1 mRNA levels were measured by a quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.

Focus of this research is on employment of a green route to prepare magnetic CuFeO@polysaccharide resin for environmental remediation purpose. The method is including solvent free solid state synthesis of copper ferrite nanoparticles by combustion route using cellulose as fuel. Then polysaccharide resin as well as its magnetic composite was prepared by using glucose, citric acid and copper ferrite as solid raw materials.

Background: To review a single-surgeon series of 616 athletic patients with anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions in order to evaluate the relationship between the timing of the reconstruction and the incidence of meniscal and chondral injuries.
Methods: SIX GROUP OF PATIENTS WERE CATEGORIZED BASED ON THE TIME INTERVAL FROM THEIR INJURY TO SURGERY IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER: <3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-18 months, 18-36 months, and >36 months. The presence of meniscal tears was documented and chondral pathology was scored based on the Outerbridge classification.

Background: This descriptive study aimed to determine the serum level of alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) in patients with severe asthma.
Materials And Methods: The serum level of AAT was determined in 43 patients with severe asthma. Pulmonary function tests were performed and data were analyzed by SPPS version 19 software.
Background: This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the relationship between the levels of serum testosterone and the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Materials And Methods: Using GOLD criteria, 140 male patients with COPD were categorized into mild, moderate, severe and very severe COPD groups of 35 each. Then, serum levels of testosterone, prolactin and LH of patients were compared and the data were analyzed using SPSS version 18 software.
