Background Food addiction (FA), where an individual displays a loss of control over the consumption of calorie-dense foods (refined carbohydrates, fats), is proposed to be like substance-use disorders with the experience of cravings, reduced control over intake, increased impulsivity, and altered reward-sensitivity. Background and objective Ultrasound-guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block has revolutionized the anesthesia practice, and a single injection can facilitate the rapid onset of anesthesia. Ropivacaine has replaced bupivacaine due to its enhanced cardiovascular and neurological safety profile. Several clinical investigations have demonstrated that magnesium sulfate administration during peripheral nerve blocks can reduce the anesthetic requirements and postoperative analgesic consumption.

Background And Aims: General anaesthesia (GA) is the preferred modality for breast surgeries; however, neuraxial anaesthesia can be performed in cases where GA poses a significant risk. We hypothesise that neuraxial blockade is a safe and effective alternative to GA in short-duration breast surgeries.
Methods: This randomised study included 30 patients of the American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I and II, who were scheduled for elective breast surgeries of a duration of less than 90 min.

Introduction Various techniques have been developed in the current era of regional anesthesia practice. With the advent of ultrasound, the visualization of needle and pleura in real time enables a better outcome with negligible adverse events. This study was designed to compare the efficacy between ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and paravertebral block (PVB) in percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for the duration of postoperative analgesia with levobupivacaine, a local anesthetic with higher lipid solubility, making it more potent and resulting in a longer duration of action.

Background And Objective: The paranasal sinuses are cavities filled with air located within specific bones, namely the frontal, ethmoidal, maxillary, and sphenoidal sinuses. The ethmoidal sinus is composed of three groups: anterior, middle, and posterior, which are found on both sides. Haller cells (HC), also known as infraorbital ethmoid cells, are projections of the anterior ethmoid sinus that extend into the floor of the orbit and the upper part of the maxillary sinus.

Background: Asthma COPD overlap (ACO) is a consensus-based phenotype having characteristics of both COPD and asthma. Distinguishing ACO from other diseases is even more important as it is related to low health-related quality of life, augmented exacerbation rate and hospital admission, a rapid deterioration in lung function, and increased morbidity and mortality. But it cannot be diagnosed explicitly based on spirometry tests, patient demographics, radiology, or by-sputum cytology.

Unlabelled: The inflammatory process involving the maxillary sinus is often exacerbated by a functional obstruction due to laterally displaced uncinate process which obstructs the infundibulum and the natural ostium. Physiologically the drainage pathway may be adequate but during periods of inflammation resulting in nasal oedema, the ostium/infundibulum interface is inadequate, preventing adequate ventilation and drainage of the maxillary sinus. Incomplete removal of the uncinate process without including the natural ostium may result in failure and recurrence.

Deep learning recently achieved advancement in the segmentation of medical images. In this regard, U-Net is the most predominant deep neural network, and its architecture is the most prevalent in the medical imaging society. Experiments conducted on difficult datasets directed us to the conclusion that the traditional U-Net framework appears to be deficient in certain respects, despite its overall excellence in segmenting multimodal medical images.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic is considered one of the most devastating situations globally, the worst affected were the senior citizens. A number of initiatives were carried out to control the COVID-19 pandemic; one such important measure is the development of COVID-19 vaccines to prevent the disease. But the continuous emergence of new SARS-COV2 variants (antigenic drift) and its demographic variation in virulence makes the vaccine's efficacy questionable.
