This study introduces an innovative approach to enhancing recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) by incorporating nanosilica (NS) and natural fibers (NF), specifically sisal fiber (SF) and palm fiber (PF). This novel combination aims to overcome the inherent limitations of RAC, such as reduced strength and durability, while promoting sustainability in construction. The research focuses on evaluating the mechanical properties of RAC, including compressive and flexural strengths, through the integration of NS and NF.

The quality and nutritional value of meat are significantly attributed to the composition of fatty acids (FAs). This investigation used gas chromatography to assess FAs in (LL), (SM), and subcutaneous fat (SC) tissues of 18 heifers feeding low (15%, LCEP) or high (30%, HCEP) cassava bioethanol by-products (CEP) and 0 (CPO-0), 2 (CPO-2), or 4% (CPO-4) crude palm oil (CPO). The experimental diet was provided at 1.

Zika virus (ZIKV) is a member of the Flaviviridae virus family and poses a significant global health concern. ZIKV is transmitted by mosquitoes, and it has been implicated in various neurological conditions associated with fetal brain development. ZIKV has two transmission cycles: a sylvatic cycle in which nonhuman primates are infected via arboreal mosquito bites, and an interhuman (urban) cycle in which the virus is transmitted among primates by mosquitoes.

This study investigates the impact of person-environment fit and job stress on innovative work behavior within Thailand's food industry. Through a comprehensive survey conducted among supervisors in the food industry, validated scales were utilized to measure person-environment fit, job stress, and innovative work behavior while controlling demographic variables. Employing hierarchical regression analysis and moderation analysis, the study examines the direct and moderating effects of person-environment fit and job stress on innovative work behavior.

Objective: This experiment aimed to evaluate the effects of replacing concentrates with cassava root-top silage (CARTOS) on feed intake, digestibility, rumen fermentation, blood parameters, and growth performance of beef cattle.
Methods: Twenty crossbred bulls with a body weight (BW) of 226±56 kg were randomly assigned to one of five treatments for 90 d in a randomized complete block design having four blocks based on BW. The concentrates were replaced by CARTOS at levels of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% dry matter (DM).

The issue of discharging waste, especially heavy metals from industrial activities into the environment, not only adversely impacts environmental quality but also has impacts on communities and human health. Removal and reduction of heavy metal contamination in rivers and wastewater are, therefore, critical initiatives that require significant attention. This work studied the removal of heavy metals, including Zn(II), Cu(II), As(III), and Pb(II) by utilizing an upcycled amidoxime low-density polyethylene sheet (AO-sheet).

A crucial challenge in feline obstetric care is the accurate prediction of the parturition date during late pregnancy. The classic simple linear regression (SLR) model, which employed the fetal biparietal diameter (BPD) as the single input feature, was frequently applied for such prediction with limited accuracy. Since Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and Support Vector Regression (SVR) are now two of the most potent scientific regression models, this study, for the first time, introduced such models as the new promising tools for feline parturition date prediction.

Strain Odt1-22, an insect-derived actinomycete was isolated from a termite (Odontotermes formosanus) that was collected from Chanthaburi province, Thailand. Strain Odt1-22 was aerobic, Gram-stain-positive, and produced bud-like spore chain on the substrate hypha. According to chemotaxonomic analysis, strain Odt1-22 contained meso-diaminopimelic acid in peptidoglycan and the whole-cell hydrolysates contained arabinose, galactose, glucose, and ribose.

The severe outbreak of African horse sickness (AHS) in Thailand has forced horses to reside full-time inside barns that are covered by a small mesh net to prevent minuscule AHS insect vectors from gaining access. However, housing in the net-covered barn induces stress in horses, which compromises their welfare. Implementing strategic airflow adjustment while retaining the vector-protection characteristics has been proposed to help alleviate this problem.

The microsporidian Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) is a major threat to shrimp health worldwide. Severe EHP infections in shrimp cause growth retardation and increase susceptibility to opportunistic infections. EHP produces spores with a chitin wall that enables them to survive prolonged environmental exposure.

Genus of the family possesses bacteria of hematopoietic origin, which are obligate intracellular Gram-negative bacteria transmitted mainly by tick vectors. The members of this group of infectious agents are not new as etiological agents of animal diseases worldwide. However, now, reports of their zoonotic potential have gained currency to study these pathogens.

If a non-destructive and rapid technique to determine the textural properties of cooked germinated brown rice (GBR) was developed, it would hold immense potential for the enhancement of the quality control process in large-scale commercial rice production. We combined the Fourier transform near-infrared (NIR) spectral data of uncooked whole grain GBR with partial least squares (PLS) regression and an artificial neural network (ANN) for an evaluation of the textural properties of cooked germinated brown rice (GBR); in addition, data separation and spectral pretreatment methods were investigated. The ANN was outperformed in the evaluation of hardness by a back extrusion test of cooked GBR using the smoothing combined with the standard normal variate pretreated NIR spectra of 188 whole grain samples in the range of 4000-12,500 cm.

The presence of endogenous viral elements (EVE) in the penaeid shrimp genome has been recently reported and suggested to be involved in the host recognition of viral invaders. Our previous report of a search for EVE of infectious hypodermal and haematopoietic necrosis virus (IHHNV-EVE) in the Thai Penaeus monodon whole genome sequence project (GenBank accession no. JABERT000000000) confirmed the presence of three clusters of EVE derived from IHHNV in the shrimp genome.

Ongoing progress in mRNA-Sequencing technologies has significantly contributed to the refinement of assisted reproductive technologies. However, the prior investigations have predominantly concentrated on alterations in overall gene expression levels, thereby leaving a considerable gap in our understanding of the influence of transcript isoform expression on fundamental cellular mechanisms of oocytes. Given the efficacy of differential transcript usage (DTU) analysis to address such knowledge, we conducted comprehensive DTU analysis utilizing mRNA-Seq datasets of germinal vesicle (GV) and metaphase II (MII) oocytes across six mammalian species from the SRA database, including cow, donkey, horse, human, mouse, and pig.

Rabbit oncology is gaining more attention as more pet rabbits are surviving beyond their normal lifespans. Due to the limited epidemiological information on pet rabbits' tumors in Thailand, this study aimed to report the prevalence and the potential risk factors associated with tumors in pet rabbits in Thailand. From 2018 to 2022, 93 tissue biopsies from tumor-suspected lesions on pet rabbits were gathered from animal hospitals in Bangkok and Chonburi provinces, Thailand.

Background And Aim: Fatty liver disease is a common condition, characterized by excess fat accumulation in the liver. It can contribute to more severe liver-related health issues, making it a critical concern in avian and human medicine. Apart from modifying the gene expression of liver cells, the disease also alters the expression of specific transcript isoforms, which might serve as new biological markers for both species.

Edible coatings are pivotal in enhancing the quality of processed meat products, acting as barriers to environmental and microbial influences by adhering directly to the food surface. Arrowroot flour, a widely produced edible tuber in Thailand, is uncharted in terms of its capability and effectiveness as an edible coating on food materials. This study aims to elucidate the composition and spectral properties of arrowroot tuber flour (ATF) to discern its viability as an edible coating for pork sausages.
