An increased total stent length (TSL) might be associated with a higher risk of clinical events; however, in patients with multivessel disease (MVD), a considerable TSL is often required. In patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome and MVD, immediate complete revascularization was associated with shorter TSL in the BIOVASC (Immediate versus staged complete revascularisation in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome and multivessel coronary disease) Trial. This is a subanalysis of the BIOVASC trial comparing clinical outcomes in patients with either <60 or ≥60 mm TSL.

Background And Aims: Cardiac ParaGangliomas (PGLs) are rare extra-adrenal tumours that arise from chromaffin cells of the sympathetic ganglia. PGL are often diagnosed incidentally, with no symptoms or symptoms related to cardiovascular dysfunction.
Methods: Cardiac Computed Tomography (CCT) and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) can detect the correct morphology and position of the lesion and provide proper tissue characterization.

The aim of these evidence-based guidelines is to present a consensus position from members of the Italian Unitary Society of Colon-Proctology (Società Italiana Unitaria di Colon-Proctologia, SIUCP) on the diagnosis and management of hemorrhoidal disease, with the goal of guiding physicians in the choice of the best treatment option. A panel of experts was charged by the Board of the SIUCP to develop key questions on the main topics related to the management of hemorrhoidal disease and to perform an accurate and comprehensive literature search on each topic, in order to provide evidence-based answers to the questions and to summarize them in statements. All the clinical questions were discussed by the expert panel in multiple rounds through the Delphi approach and, for each statement, a consensus among the experts was reached.

Objective: The prognosis of colorectal cancer has continuously improved in recent years thanks to continuous progress in both the therapeutic and diagnostic fields. The specific objective of this study is to contribute to the diagnostic field through the evaluation of the correlation between superior hemorrhoidal vein (SHV) ectasia detected on computed tomography (CT) and Tumor (T), Node (N), and distant metastasis (M) examination and mesorectal fascia (MRF) invasion in the preoperative staging of rectal cancer.
Methods: Between January 2018 and April 2022, 46 patients with histopathological diagnosis of rectal cancer were retrospectively enrolled, and the diameter of the SHV was evaluated by CT examination.

Dipartimento di Diagnostica per Immagini, Radioterapia Oncologica ed Ematologia, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome, Italy.
Background: Invasive fungal infections (IFI) are a relevant cause of morbidity and mortality among patients with haematological neoplasms (HMs). Since 2002, a classification of IFI based on host factors, clinical and radiological features and mycological tests was published for research purpose.
Objectives: These criteria are widely used in clinical practice to identify patients at risk for IFI.

November 2024
BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Science, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Background: Aortic stenosis (AS) is characterized by calcification and fibrosis. The ability to quantify these processes simultaneously has been limited with previous imaging methods.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the aortic valve fibrocalcific volume by computed tomography (CT) angiography in patients with AS, in particular, to assess its reproducibility, association with histology and disease severity, and ability to predict/track progression.

Background: In intermediate/high risk prostate cancer, preoperative staging exams are mandatory. The aim of these imaging studies is to evaluate eventual lymph nodes involvement and/or metastatic spread of the tumor. Nevertheless, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), bone scan modalities have controversial sensitivity.

The interaction between ageing and multiple sclerosis is complex and carries significant implications for patient care. Managing multiple sclerosis effectively requires an understanding of how ageing and multiple sclerosis impact brain structure and function. Ageing inherently induces brain changes, including reduced plasticity, diminished grey matter volume, and ischaemic lesion accumulation.

Background And Aim: In surgically altered anatomy (SAA), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) can be challenging, and it remains debatable the choice of the optimal endoscopic approach within this context. We aim to show our experience and evaluate the technical and clinical success of endoscopic treatment performed in the setting of adverse events (AE) after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD).
Methods: This study was conducted on a retrospective cohort of patients presenting biliopancreatic complications after PD from 01/01/2012 to 31/12/2022.

Introduction: Subtalar osteoarthritis in the context of flatfoot (recently renamed Progressive Collapsing Foot Deformity (PCFD)) may be treated through subtalar joint (SJ) arthrodesis with anticipated consequences on three-dimensional bony configuration. This study investigates the correction of PCFD-related deformities achieved after Anterolateral Arthroscopic Subtalar Arthrodesis (ALAPSTA).
Methods: In this retrospective study, we evaluated pre- and post-operative (at 6 months) weight bearing computed tomography (WBCT) images of patients diagnosed with PCFD with a degenerated SJ (2 A according to PCFD classification) and/or peritalar subluxation (2D) with or without associated flexible midfoot and/or forefoot deformities (1B, 1 C and 1E) which underwent ALAPSTA as a standalone procedure between 2017 and 2020.

Objective: DYNC1H1 variants are involved on a disease spectrum from neuromuscular disorders to neurodevelopmental disorders. DYNC1H1-related epilepsy has been reported in small cohorts. We dissect the electroclinical features of 34 patients harboring de novo DYNC1H1 pathogenic variants, identify subphenotypes on the DYNC1H1-related epilepsy spectrum, and compare the genotype-phenotype correlations observed in our cohort with the literature.
