Even though radiomics can hold great potential for supporting clinical decision-making, its current use is mostly limited to academic research, without applications in routine clinical practice. The workflow of radiomics is complex due to several methodological steps and nuances, which often leads to inadequate reporting and evaluation, and poor reproducibility. Available reporting guidelines and checklists for artificial intelligence and predictive modeling include relevant good practices, but they are not tailored to radiomic research.

Congenital melanocytic naevus (CMN) syndrome, previously termed neurocutaneous melanosis, is a rare disease caused by postzygotic mosaic mutations occurring during embryogenesis in precursors of melanocytes. The severity of neurological manifestations in CMN patients is related to central nervous system abnormalities found at magnetic resonance imaging. The association between CMN and Dandy-Walker malformation (DWM) has been described in the literature, but recent advances in imaging and genetics lead to diagnostic criteria revision.

Background: Isolate features of the coronary anatomy have been associated with the pathophysiology of atherosclerotic disease. Computational methods have been described to allow precise quantification of the complex three-dimensional (3D) coronary geometry. The present study tested whether quantitative parameters that describe the spatial 3D coronary geometry is associated with the extension and composition of the underlying coronary artery disease (CAD).

Cardiovascular (CV) diseases (CVD) are a major cause of long-term morbidity and mortality affecting life expectancy amongst cancer survivors. In recent years, because of the possibility of early diagnosis and the increased efficacy of neo-adjuvant and adjuvant systemic treatments (targeting specific molecular pathways), the high percentage of survival from breast cancer led CVD to become the first cause of death among survivors. Therefore, it is mandatory to adopt cardioprotective strategies to minimize CV side effects and CVD in general in breast cancer patients.

Spontaneously ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (SRHCC) is an uncommon and life-threatening complication in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is usually associated with chronic liver disease and has a poor prognosis with a high mortality rate during the acute phase. SRHCC can cause a severe and urgent condition of acute abdomen disease and requires a correct diagnosis to achieve adequate treatment.

Spontaneous epidural (SEH) and subdural hematomas (SSH) of the spine are a rare cause of spinal injury and morbidity. They often present in the emergency setting, though magnetic resonance imaging is the gold-standard for diagnosis. Knowledge of anatomy, and in particular of the dural layers of the spine, is crucial to understand the location of SEH and SSH and their relationship with spinal structure.

Background: It is unknown whether the survival benefit of cytoreductive nephrectomy (CN) in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) applies to patients with primary tumor size ≤4 cm.
Objective: To test the association between CN on overall survival (OS) of mRCC patients with primary tumor size ≤4 cm.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Within the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database (2006-2018), all mRCC patients with primary tumor size ≤4 cm were identified.

Background: Post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) quantitative flow ratio (QFR) values ≥0.90 are associated with a low incidence of adverse events.
Objectives: The AQVA (Angio-based Quantitative Flow Ratio Virtual PCI Versus Conventional Angio-guided PCI in the Achievement of an Optimal Post-PCI QFR) trial aims to test whether a QFR-based virtual percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is superior to a conventional angiography-based PCI at obtaining optimal post-PCI QFR results.

Introduction: Being one of the most practiced procedures in plastic surgery, it is important to foster a better understanding of the effect of anatomical changes in the pubic area after abdominoplasty on sexuality in women. Since to date no study has been performed with this purpose, our aim is to evaluate the impact of the abdominoplasty on sexual pleasure and to perform an objective evaluation of changes in clitoral position and prepubic fat area after this procedure.
Materials And Methods: A prospective study has been performed in 50 women who expressed a desire to undergo abdominoplasty from January 2021 to December 2021.

Background: Myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is common in current clinical practice. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) plays an important role in its management and is increasingly recommended by all the current guidelines. However, the prognostic value of CMR in patients with MINOCA is still undetermined.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the early outcomes of a novel off the shelf pre-loaded inner branched thoraco-abdominal endograft (E-nside) in the treatment of aortic pathologies.
Methods: Data from a physician initiated national multicentre registry on patients treated with the E-nside endograft, were prospectively collected and analysed. Pre-operative clinical and anatomical characteristics, procedural data, and early outcomes (90 days) were recorded in a dedicated electronic data capture system.

SARS-CoV-2, one of the human RNA viruses, is widely studied around the world. Significant efforts have been made to understand its molecular mechanisms of action and how it interacts with epithelial cells and the human microbiome since it has also been observed in gut microbiome bacteria. Many studies emphasize the importance of surface immunity and also that the mucosal system is critical in the interaction of the pathogen with the cells of the oral, nasal, pharyngeal, and intestinal epithelium.

Patients affected by idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) have a high mortality rate in the first 2-5 years from diagnosis. It is therefore necessary to identify a prognostic indicator that can guide the care process. The Gender-Age-Physiology (GAP) index and staging system is an easy-to-calculate prediction tool, widely validated, and largely used in clinical practice to estimate the risk of mortality of IPF patients at 1-3 years.

The relationship between structural connectivity (SC) and functional connectivity (FC) captured from magnetic resonance imaging, as well as its interaction with disability and cognitive impairment, is not well understood in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). The Virtual Brain (TVB) is an open-source brain simulator for creating personalized brain models using SC and FC. The aim of this study was to explore SC-FC relationship in MS using TVB.

Background: A bolus thermodilution-derived index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) has emerged as the standard for assessing coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD). Continuous thermodilution has recently been introduced as a tool to quantify absolute coronary flow and microvascular resistance directly. Microvascular resistance reserve (MRR) derived from continuous thermodilution has been proposed as a novel metric of microvascular function, which is independent of epicardial stenoses and myocardial mass.

Background: The pressure cooker technique (PCT) was developed to enable safer and more extensive embolization of hypervascular lesions by simultaneously minimizing backflow of liquid embolic materials and thus reduce the risk of non-target embolization of adjacent healthy vessels. We report our experience in applying the PCT to cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) and additionally suggest our technical adjustments.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all patients suffering from AVMs or DAVFs that were treated with the PCT between 2018 and 2020 in two university hospitals.
