Purpose Of Review: Despite the plethora of publications discussing the severe respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), evidence of viral secretion in urine is sparse.

Recent Findings: We could identify 34 publications including a total of 2172 patients. Among those, 549 patients were tested for SARS-CoV-2 secretion in urine, which was detected in only 38 patients (6.

Purpose Of Review: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. Poor specificity and sensitivity of total PSA often results in over and sometimes underdetection/treatment. Therefore, more specific and sensitive biomarkers for the detection and monitoring especially of clinically significant PCa as well as treatment-specific markers are much sought after.

Introduction: This manuscript aims to give an overview of current diagnostic, staging, and prognostic markers for prostate cancer (PCa) and discuss emerging approaches. The widespread use of PSA for early detection led to improved survival but at the cost of over-diagnosis, often associated with over-treatment and its adverse events. There is thus an unmet need for new markers to sustainably improve the diagnosis and risk assessment, thereby providing a more accurate treatment decision for each individual patient.

Objective: The severity of breakthrough cancer pain (BTcP) impacts patients' quality of life, increases the risk of anxiety and depression, lowers functional capacities, and may lead to poor compliance with cancer treatments. The aim of the current study was to assess, in a real-life setting, patient satisfaction with a fentanyl-pectin-nasal-spray (FPNS) for BTcP management in head and neck (H&N) cancer patients treated by radiotherapy.

Materials And Methods: This non-interventional, prospective study was conducted in 92 adult H&N-cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy and who started FPNS treatment for BTcP.

Objective: To identify factors predictive of high discordance (>20 mm) between lesion sizes measured by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and histology for invasive lobular breast cancer.

Materials And Methods: Data for all women with invasive lobular breast cancer (pure or associated with a component of invasive ductal carcinoma) between 1st January 2007 and 31st December 2016 were included in this study. Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine factors predictive of high discordance (underestimation/overestimation by >20 mm) between tumour sizes measured by MRI and histology for invasive lobular breast cancer.

Objective: The long-term morbidity associated with isolated left-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) has been described previously. However, antenatal criteria impacting gastrointestinal morbidity (GIM) are not yet defined. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of fetal stomach position on the risk of GIM at 2 years of age in children with left-sided CDH.

Department of Gynaecology, Centre Hospitalier Régional Universitaire de Tours, Hôpital Bretonneau, 2 Boulevard Tonnelé, 37044 Tours, France; François-Rabelais University, Tours, France; INSERM unit 1069, Tours, France. Electronic address:

Introduction: About 6% of women with breast cancer present with synchronous metastases. Treatment remains palliative in international recommendations but the impact of loco-regional surgery remains controversial.

Objective: We conducted a multicentre, cohort study to evaluate the impact of axillary lymph node (ALN) surgery on overall survival in stage IV breast cancer at diagnosis.

Purpose Of Review: Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is a new definition including patients who failed intravesical BCG therapy and should not receive more BCG because of the very low efficacy and disproportionately poor prognosis. Radical cystectomy as the standard of care for these patients is associated with significant morbidity and altered quality of life. Therefore, the FDA has accepted phase II single-arm studies as a threshold to approve new agents in this setting.

Advanced multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging of multinodular and vacuolating neuronal tumor.

Eur J Neurol

August 2020

Department of Neuroradiology, Fondation Ophtalmologique Adolphe de Rothschild, Paris, France.

Background And Purpose: Multinodular and vacuolating neuronal tumor (MVNT) of the cerebrum is a rare brain lesion with suggestive imaging features. The aim of our study was to report the largest series of MVNTs so far and to evaluate the utility of advanced multiparametric magnetic resonance (MR) techniques.

Methods: This multicenter retrospective study was approved by our institutional research ethics board.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to evaluate if the side (right or left) of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) influences the survival chances of newborns in intensive care.
  • Analyzed data from 506 cases showed a higher survival rate for left CDH (74%) compared to right CDH (49%), but the side alone wasn’t directly linked to increased mortality after accounting for other factors.
  • Key findings indicated that liver herniation and lung-to-head ratio are significant predictors of mortality, while the laterality of CDH did not significantly affect survival rates after adjustments.

Background: In the last decade, European cities saw the development of "slamming," a practice related to chemsex that combines three elements: a sexual context, psychostimulant drug use, and injection practices. Epidemiological data on this practice is still sparse and media attention might have unintentionally distorted the size of this phenomenon. Therefore, we aimed to estimate the prevalence of men practicing slam and to identify factors associated with this practice.

Purpose Of Review: The aim of this article is to review incidence, risk factors, and optimal management of de-novo urothelial carcinoma in transplant recipients.

Recent Findings: There is a two to three-fold increased risk for de-novo malignant tumors after solid-organ transplantation, but there is currently no consensus regarding optimal management of de-novo urothelial carcinoma in transplanted patients. Known risk factors include polyomavirus BK, aristolochic acid, and smoking.

Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the prognostic value of sequential of abiraterone (ABI) and enzalutamide (ENZ) therapy in patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).

Methods: PUBMED, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases were searched for articles published prior to December 2019 according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis statement. Studies were deemed eligible if they compared overall survival (OS), combined progression-free survival (PFS), combined prostate specific antigen (PSA)-PFS, and PSA response rates in CRPC patients receiving sequential ABI/ENZ or vice versa.
