An overview of the significant innovations in photocatalysts for H development, photocatalyst selection criteria, and photocatalytic modifications to improve the photocatalytic activity was examined in this Review, as well as mechanisms and thermodynamics. A variety of semiconductors have been examined in a structured fashion, such as TiO-, g-CN-, graphene-, sulfide-, oxide-, nitride-, oxysulfide-, oxynitrides, and cocatalyst-based photocatalysts. The techniques for enhancing the compatibility of metals and nonmetals is discussed in order to boost photoactivity within visible light irradiation.

In this study, we demonstrate the green synthesis of bimetallic silver-copper nanoparticles (Ag-Cu NPs) using Aerva lanata plant extract. These NPs possess diverse biological properties, including in vitro antioxidant, antibiofilm, and cytotoxic activities. The synthesis involves the reduction of silver nitrate and copper oxide salts mediated by the plant extract, resulting in the formation of crystalline Ag-Cu NPs with a face-centered cubic structure.

Improvement in Corrosion Performance of ECAPed AZ80/91 Mg Alloys Using SS316 HVOF Coating.

Materials (Basel)

October 2023

University of Coimbra, CEMMPRE, ARISE, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Rua Luís Reis Santos, 3030-788 Coimbra, Portugal.

Mg AZ80/91 alloys are highly popular due to their lightweight, high strength-to-weight ratio, and good machinability. However, their moderate mechanical properties and corrosion resistance have limited their use in the automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors. This study primarily aims to enhance the mechanical performance and corrosion resistance of Mg AZ80/91 alloys, making them more suitable for applications in the aerospace and automotive industries.
