T2*-based dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) MR perfusion images provide useful measurements of the biomarkers associated with tumor perfusion. This study aimed to distinguish infiltrating tumors from vasogenic edema in glioblastomas using DSC-MR perfusion images.

Development and validation of a metabolic syndrome and its components to predict the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer: An observational, single-center, cohort study.

To assess whether metabolic syndrome can be used as a reference index to evaluate the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer (BC). The clinical data were analyzed by 1-way analysis using the χ2 test, and further multifactorial logistic regression analysis was performed for statistically significant differences.

There are limited studies on the phase angle (PhA) and sarcopenic obesity (SO) in the Chinese population. This study aimed to establish 50 kHz-PhA reference data for SO population, and to evaluate the correlation between 50 kHz-PhA and SO. A total of 10,312 participants including 5415 men and 4897 women were enrolled in this study, and their resistance and reactance at 50 kHz, and body composition parameters were measured a segmental multifrequency bioelectrical impedance analysis device (InBody 720).

Analysis of risk factors for postoperative thrombosis in patients with hematological diseases undergoing PICC surgery.

This study analyzes the prognostic factors of thrombosis in patients with hematological diseases after peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) surgery. We conducted a retrospective analysis of 223 patients with hematological diseases who underwent PICC catheterization between January 2017 and June 2021. These patients were categorized into the thrombotic group and non-thrombotic group based on the occurrence of thrombosis following PICC catheterization.

Detecting directional couplings from time series is crucial in understanding complex dynamical systems. Various approaches based on reconstructed state-spaces have been developed for this purpose, including a cross-distance vector measure, which we introduced in our recent work. Here, we devise two new cross-vector measures that utilize ranks and time series estimates instead of distances.

Gilles de la Tourette syndrome (GTS) and other tic disorders (TDs) have a substantial genetic component with their heritability estimated at between 60 and 80%. Here we propose an oligogenic risk score of TDs using whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data from a group of Polish GTS patients, their families, and control samples (n = 278). In this study, we first reviewed the literature to obtain a preliminary list of 84 GTS/TD candidate genes.
