Aim: Studies on the changes in the presentation and management of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) during the COVID-19 pandemic from low- and middle-income countries are limited. We sought to determine the changes in the number of admissions, management practices, and outcomes of AMI during the pandemic period in India.

Methods & Results: In this two-timepoint cross-sectional study involving 187 hospitals across India, patients admitted with AMI between 15th March to 15th June in 2020 were compared with those admitted during the corresponding period of 2019.

Psychogenic purpura is a rare psychocutaneous entity characterized by painful atraumatic, ecchymotic, and purpuric lesions that commonly occur in young women. The objective of this study is to describe the clinical presentation, psychiatric profile, and response to therapy (pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic) in patients with psychogenic purpura. Twenty-three patients, referred from various clinical departments with unexplained purpura or ecchymotic lesions, were assessed in the department of psychiatry of a tertiary care institute in eastern India over a period of 3 years (May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2020).

Right-sided native valve infective endocarditis is common in patients with congenital or valvular heart disease, intracardiac device, central venous catheter and intravenous drug abuse, usually manifesting in adulthood. However, in the absence of predisposing risk factors and in younger age groups, this disease may pose a diagnostic challenge. We report a case series of three juvenile patients with isolated tricuspid valve infective endocarditis without any risk factors and paucity of cardiovascular findings in two of them, in an attempt to highlight the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion to arrive a timely diagnosis.

Tropical pyomyositis manifests as single or multiple abscesses inside skeletal muscles and it has a higher prevalence in immunocompromised patients. Scrub typhus, a zoonotic disease is caused by and the clinical manifestations range from simple febrile illness to organ threatening complications. Here, we present a rare case of an immunocompetent young man diagnosed as tropical pyomyositis in association with scrub typhus.

Growing evidence suggests that non-motor symptoms (NMS) in Parkinson's disease (PD) have differential progression patterns that have a different natural history from motor progression and may be geographically influenced.
