Primary splenic diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PS-DLBCL) is a rare manifestation of malignant lymphoma. Although DLBCL is the most common subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, primary splenic involvement is uncommon. Additionally, a gastrosplenic fistula at initial presentation is even more rare and poses a diagnostic challenge for the radiologist.

Pediatric liver transplantation (PLT) is a life-saving procedure for children with end-stage liver disease. However, post-transplant monitoring, particularly the diagnosis and prognosis of complications such as allograft fibrosis, remains challenging. Traditionally, liver biopsy has been the gold standard for assessing allograft fibrosis, despite its invasive nature and inherent procedural risks.

The global incidence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is escalating considerably. NAFLD covers a range of liver conditions from simple steatosis to the more severe form known as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, which involves chronic liver inflammation and the transformation of hepatic stellate cells into myofibroblasts that generate excess extracellular matrix, leading to fibrosis. Hepatocyte ballooning is a key catalyst for fibrosis progression, potentially advancing to cirrhosis and its decompensated state.

Objectives: Glycated albumin (GA) has potential value in the management of people with diabetes; however, to draw meaningful conclusions between clinical studies it is important that the GA values are comparable. This study investigates the standardization of the Norudia Glycated Albumin and Lucica Glycated Albumin-L methods.
Methods: The manufacturer reported imprecision was verified by performing CLSI-EP15-A3 protocol using manufacturer produced controls.

Introduction: Trehalose is a naturally occurring disaccharide of 2 glucose molecules, which has been suggested as a potential therapeutic agent to reduce blood glucose and ameliorate diabetes-related complications in type 2 diabetes (T2D). This study aimed to determine the efficacy of medium-term trehalose treatment in patients with T2D.
Material And Methods: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial in 40 patients with T2D was undertaken; 20 ingested trehalose 3.

Lipids are stored energy sources in animals, and disturbance of lipid metabolism is associated with metabolic disorders, including cardiovascular diseases, obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and diabetes. Modifying dysregulated lipid metabolism homeostasis can lead to enhanced therapeutic benefits, such as the use of statin therapy in cardiovascular disease. However, many natural compounds may have therapeutic utility to improve lipid metabolism.

Background: We aimed to investigate the possible effect of statins on important genes/proteins involved in foam cell formation.
Methods: The gene expression profile of the GSE9874, GSE54666, and GSE7138from the Omnibus database were usedto identify genes involved in foam cell formation. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and MCODE analysis of the intersection of three databases were analyzed.

Autophagy is a physiological event in mammalian cells to promote cell survival and efficiency in tissues, but it may turn to be a pathological process in disease conditions such as in diabetes. Chronic hyperglycemia induces aberrant autophagy and promotes cellular death as a main underlying cause of diabetes-related complications. Therefore, autophagy-modifying therapy may be of value to prevent the development of complications.

The ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 is intrinsically a systemic inflammatory disorder; hence, those patients suffering an underlying chronic inflammatory disease such as diabetes mellitus are at high risk of severe complications. Preventing or suppressing the inflammatory responses are of importance in diabetic patients. Sodium-glucose cotransporters-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are a newly introduced anti-diabetic drugs that have hypoglycemic effects through the urinary excretion of glucose.

Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is a global health problem that can progress to steatohepatitis and cirrhosis. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of curcumin + piperine on cardiometabolic risk factors, as well as hepatic steatosis and fibrosis in NAFLD patients with moderate-to-high hepatic steatosis. Patients diagnosed with moderate-to-high NAFLD by liver sonography were randomized to either curcumin + piperine (500 mg/day curcumin plus 5 mg/day piperine) for 12 weeks (n = 30) or placebo groups (n = 30).

Background: This study sought to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of plasmapheresis, Tocilizumab, and Tocilizumab with plasmapheresis treatment on the removal of inflammatory cytokines and improvement clinically of patients with severe COVID-19 in Intensive Care Units (ICU) due to the association between increased cytokine release and the severity of COVID-19.
Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted in three treatment arms in Iran. All patients received standard care and randomization into one of three treatment groups; Tocilizumab (TCZ) alone, plasmapheresis alone, or a combination of Tocilizumab and plasmapheresis.

Background: Diabetes is an increasingly prevalent global disease caused by the impairment in insulin production or insulin function. Diabetes in the long term causes both microvascular and macrovascular complications that may result in retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and cerebrovascular disease. Considerable effort has been expended looking at the numerous genes and pathways to explain the mechanisms leading to diabetes-related complications.
