Determining the optimal loading schedule and measuring implant stability at different times are critical tasks. Numerous tools have been created to assess implant-bone stability as a sign of a well-treated implant. Thus, the objective of this cross-sectional study was to estimate the validity of the Osstell ISQ system for assessing implant stability.

Comparative Evaluation of Serum Levels of Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, and ESR in Chronic Periodontitis Among Smokers, Gutkha Chewers, and Type 2 Diabetic Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Aim: The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between periodontal disease severity, cigarette smoking, gutka chewing, and type 2 diabetes mellitus by estimating, correlating, and comparing blood levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in patients with chronic periodontitis.

Methodology: A cross-sectional research study conducted at Rama Dental College Hospital and Research Centre in Kanpur involved 240 patients with chronic periodontitis, who also exhibited additional risk factors including smoking, gutkha chewing, and type-2 diabetes mellitus. Divided into four groups of 60 individuals each, the study aimed to estimate and correlate blood levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, and ESR.

Materials and methods A total of 120 tooth samples prepared from healthy maxillary first premolars extracted due to orthodontic reasons were grouped randomly into four groups of 30 samples each - Group I: control group (C); Group II: laser group (LG); Group III: toothpaste group (TP) and Group IV: laser + toothpaste group (LT). The samples in Group II-IV were treated with the respective test agents and were placed under SEM to study the changes in the dentinal tubule number and diameter.

The impact of inflammatory response on the biological characteristics of GMSCs has been the subject of studies, with conflicting findings. In order to more fully understand the effects of the localized inflammatory environment, the current study assessed the intensity and differentiating capacity of GMSCs derived from healthy periodontal tissues (H-GMSC) and GMSC derived from inflamed periodontal tissues (I-GMSC) tissues. Cells from every well were taken out and counted using a hemocytometer every three days for a total of 12 days.
