Aim: The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between periodontal disease severity, cigarette smoking, gutka chewing, and type 2 diabetes mellitus by estimating, correlating, and comparing blood levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in patients with chronic periodontitis.
Methodology: A cross-sectional research study conducted at Rama Dental College Hospital and Research Centre in Kanpur involved 240 patients with chronic periodontitis, who also exhibited additional risk factors including smoking, gutkha chewing, and type-2 diabetes mellitus. Divided into four groups of 60 individuals each, the study aimed to estimate and correlate blood levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, and ESR.

Background: Forensic odontology plays a pivotal role in the identification of victims in mass disasters with the help of "Preserved dental records" available to general dental practitioners (GDPs). Comparison of dental data obtained from the deceased person with dental data obtained by the dentist from the person's file is a primary method of identification through dental evidence.
Aim: We explored the practice of maintaining dental records among GDPs, as well as their knowledge of legal regulations and the application of dental records in forensic odontology.

Background: Surgical removal of the mandibular third molar requires reflection of the mucoperiosteal flap. Several studies have suggested different varieties and innovative designs for flap reflection. We have designed a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to check the feasibility of two flap designs: lingual-based triangular flap (LBTF) and buccal-based triangular flap (BBTF) by calculating the duration of surgery and evaluating postoperative complications such as pain, swelling, and trismus.

Context: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF), or OSMF, is a well-known, potentially premalignant condition of the oral cavity. Monitoring OSMF widespread effects necessitate interventions in at-risk individuals, ideally before the disease becomes aggressive. Ascorbic acid and iron, for instance, are significant micronutrients in the pathogenesis of OSMF.

Objective: This study intended to assess plasma ghrelin levels in individuals with chronic periodontitis and analyze potential associations with bone turnover indicators, serum cytokines, and periodontal parameters.
Material And Methods: The research contained 80 patients each with 40 individuals with periodontally healthy controls (C) (28 males, 12 females) and 40 chronic periodontitis (CP) patients (29 males, 11 females). The blood samples were analyzed for soluble receptor activator nuclear factor kappa B ligand (sRANKL), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), total and acylated ghrelin, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), osteocalcin (OSC) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and periodontal parameters were recorded.

Background: Since oral health issues can have a negative influence on a person's physical functioning, social status, and wellbeing, oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) becomes an indispensable part of overall health. Previous published studies report that periodontitis (PD) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) have a significant negative impact on OHRQoL. Based on these findings, it would be reasonable to assume that patients with coexisting PsA and PD would see a comparable or maybe synergistic effect on their OHRQoL.

Currently, ligature-free bracket technologies, including self-ligating brackets (SLBs), are all the rage in orthodontics. Self-ligating mechanisms have been shown to be more effective and less time-consuming in orthodontic treatment than traditional appliances due to their enhanced frictional properties. Crucial to the success of the multi-band/bracket method is the transmission of forces and moments from the bracket to the archwire.

The impact of inflammatory response on the biological characteristics of GMSCs has been the subject of studies, with conflicting findings. In order to more fully understand the effects of the localized inflammatory environment, the current study assessed the intensity and differentiating capacity of GMSCs derived from healthy periodontal tissues (H-GMSC) and GMSC derived from inflamed periodontal tissues (I-GMSC) tissues. Cells from every well were taken out and counted using a hemocytometer every three days for a total of 12 days.
