Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths globally. The gut microbiota, along with adenomatous polyps (AP), has emerged as a plausible contributor to CRC progression. This study aimed to scrutinize the impact of the FadA antigen derived from Fusobacterium nucleatum on the expression levels of the ANXA2 ceRNA network and assess its relevance to CRC advancement.

We report the rotational spectra of 2-chlorobenzaldehyde, 3-chlorobenzaldehyde, and 4-chlorobenzaldehyde, including a complete experimental description of the nuclear quadrupole coupling constants, which were previously not experimentally determined.

As the second most populated country in Africa, Ethiopia needs public health measures to control diseases that impact its population. The goal of this study is to analyse disease burdens of HBV and HCV, while also highlighting their estimated associated costs for the country. A literature review and a Delphi process reflecting input of Ethiopian experts and the National Viral Hepatitis Technical Working Group were used to complement mathematical modelling to estimate HBV and HCV disease and economic burdens.

In this work, a specially designed multilayer indium tin oxide (ITO) mesh structure metasurface was proposed as a microwave absorber, achieving both excellent angle-insensitive broadband absorption and high shielding effectiveness (SE). It features gradually changing surface resistance ( ), to expand the absorption bandwidth while maintaining high SE. Also, a folded square ring metasurface was designed to effectively suppress surface wave grating lobes, as well as to reduce the unit size of the metasurface and thus the absorber.

Prolonged persistence of mutagenic DNA lesions in somatic cells.

DNA is subject to continual damage, leaving each cell with thousands of individual DNA lesions at any given moment. The efficiency of DNA repair means that most known classes of lesion have a half-life of minutes to hours, but the extent to which DNA damage can persist for longer durations remains unknown. Here, using high-resolution phylogenetic trees from 89 donors, we identified mutations arising from 818 DNA lesions that persisted across multiple cell cycles in normal human stem cells from blood, liver and bronchial epithelium.
