Most of the wastes emitted from the food processing industries are not utilized for any further purpose. The economic value of the food waste is very less when compared to the collection or reuse or discard. To increase the economic value we have to design the food waste as useful product or applicable in most of the current field.

Mutations in PLA2G6 were identified in patients with a spectrum of neurodegenerative conditions, such as infantile neuroaxonal dystrophy (INAD), atypical late-onset neuroaxonal dystrophy (ANAD) and dystonia parkinsonism complex (DPC). However, there is no report on the genetic analysis of families with members affected with INAD, ANAD and DPC from India. Therefore, the main aim of this study was to perform genetic analysis of 22 Indian families with INAD, ANAD and DPC.

Alzheimer's disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and currently does not have any cure. The rate of incidence of Alzheimer's from 2010 is up by 71%, whereas many other diseases have been decreasing in their prevalence. In this review, we have attempted to cover the current landscape of treatment alongside forthcoming advances.

Lung cancer is one of the malignancies causing deaths worldwide. The yet to be developed non-invasive diagnostic techniques, are a challenge for early detection of cancer before it progresses to its later stages. The currently available diagnostic methods are expensive or invasive, and are not fit for general screening purposes.

The photophysical properties of 4-fluoro-2-methoxyphenyl boronic acid (4FMPBA) are characterized using absorption and fluorescence techniques in series of non-alcohols and alcohols. The results are analyzed using different solvent polarity functions and Kamlet and Catalan's multiple regression approaches. The excited state dipole moment and change in dipole moment are calculated using both the solvatochromic shift method and Reichardt's microscopic solvent polarity parameter ETN.

The study reports green mediated combustion route for the synthesis of Tb(3+) ion activated Y2O3 nanophosphors using Aloe Vera gel as fuel. The concentration of Tb(3+) plays a key role in controlling the morphology of Y2O3 nanostructures. The formation of different morphologies of Y2O3: Tb(3+) nanophosphors were characterized by PXRD, SEM, TEM and HRTEM.

The absorption and fluorescence spectra of newly synthesized aryl boronic acid derivative namely Phenyl boronic acid (PBA) have been recorded in various solvents of different polarities. The ground state dipole moment of PBA was obtained from quantum chemical calculations. Solvatochromic correlations were used to estimate the ground state (μg) and excited state (μe) dipole moments.

We estimated the relative florescence quantum yield (Φ) of 8-methoxy-3-[1-(4,5-dicarbomethoxy-1,2,3-triazoloacetyl)]coumarin [8MDTC] using a single-point method with quinine sulfate in 0.1 M of sulfuric acid used as a standard reference. The fluorescence lifetimes, radiative and non-radiative decay rate constants are calculated.

Some of the daughter products in the (222)Rn-decay series, such as (210)Po and (210)Pb, have been widely used as tracers and chronometers in aqueous systems. We measured the concentrations of (210)Pb and (210)Po in the dissolved (≤0.5 μm), bulk (unfiltered) and particulate phases (≥1 μm) collected in the Clinton River in the Lake St.

Several synthetic dyes employed in textile and food industries are discharged into aquatic environment. These visible pollutants in water damage environment, as they are carcinogenic and toxic to humans. The use of cost effective and ecofriendly plant cellulose based adsorbents have been studied in batch experiments as an alternative and effective substitution of activated carbon for the removal of toxic dyes from waste water.

The aqueous solution of methylene blue (MB) has been subjected to Photocatalytic degradation by UV radiation in presence of TiO2 photo-catalyst containing different concentrations of H2O2. The experiments conducted at different dye concentrations (12 and 20 ppm), catalyst loading, pH and H2O2 dosage (1-10 ml l(-1)), revealed that the degradation rate is strongly influenced by respective experimental parameters. However the influence of catalyst alone is not predominant in degradation.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG)-based polyurethane/polyacrylonitrile (PU/PAN, 50/50) semi-interpenetrating polymer network (SIPN) membrane has been studied from sorption/desorption cycles and diffusion behaviour with substituted aromatic probe molecules at 20, 40 and 60 degrees C. Sorption/desorption cycles have been repeated to evaluate polymer-solvent interaction. Organic solvents taken up or given out by IPN are measured periodically till equilibrium.
