The mammalian gastrointestinal tract is a stage for dynamic inter-kingdom interactions among bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa, which collectively shape the gut micro-ecology and influence host physiology. Despite being a modest fraction, the fungal community, also referred to as mycobiota, represents a critical component of the gut microbiota. Emerging evidence suggests that fungi act as early colonizers of the intestine, exerting a lasting influence on gut development.

January 2025

National Key Laboratory of Optical Field Manipulation Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu 610209, China.

Inductively coupled plasma (ICP), a non-contact optical processing method, has been widely used in the preparation of fused quartz. However, the thermal effect during processing inevitably affects the stability of the removal rate, reduces the processing accuracy, and restricts the further development of plasma processing. This paper analyzes the critical temperature that affects the changes in plasma removal depth, establishes a heat transfer model for plasma jet processing through simulations, derives the heat conduction equation during processing, and obtains the critical radius corresponding to the critical temperature related to the processing speed.

Micromachines (Basel)

December 2024

State Key Discipline Laboratory of Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Technology, Xidian University, Xi'an 710071, China.

In this study, we aim to enhance the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of AlGaN-based ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) by using the short-period AlGaN/GaN superlattice as a tunnel junction (TJ) to construct polarized structures. We analyze in detail the effect of this polarized TJ on the carrier injection efficiency and investigate the increase in hole and electron density caused by the formation of 2D hole gas (2DHG) and 2D electron gas (2DEG) in the superlattice structure. In addition, a dielectric layer is introduced to evaluate the effect of stress changes on the tunneling probability and current spread in TJ.
