This study was performed to identify severely injured older patients at high risk for mortality by examining their characteristics and identifying prognostic factors contributing to mortality.

The liver is crucial for metabolizing the anticancer drug palbociclib, but limited information is available on the impact of hepatic impairment on its toxicity and efficacy, with no real-world data available. This study aims to evaluate how hepatic impairment affects hematological toxicity and progression-free survival (PFS) of palbociclib in advanced hormone receptor-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative breast cancer, using the National Cancer Institute scoring system, in a large real-world dataset. This multicenter retrospective observational study included female patients treated with palbociclib between August 2017 and February 2024.

Study Design: This is a cross-sectional study of Chinese adults after cardiac surgery under extracorporeal circulation, aged 18 years and older, recruited from a tertiary hospital in North China.

Methods: This study uses latent profile analysis to identify potential classifications of kinesiophobia in questionnaires from 348 patients undergoing cardiac surgery under extracorporeal circulation.

To understand differences in anti-factor-Xa levels produced by two different dosing strategies (conventional and individualized) for therapeutic enoxaparin in a cohort of hospital inpatients. A multicenter, retrospective cohort study over a two- and a half-year period for inpatients with stable renal function and on therapeutic enoxaparin. Anti-factor-Xa levels were taken 3-5 h after enoxaparin administration and a minimum of 48 h of dosing.

Problem: Natural killer (NK) cells undergo education for full functionality via interactions between killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) or NKG2A and human leukocyte antigen (HLA) ligands. Presumably, education is important during early pregnancy as insufficient education has been associated with impaired vascular remodeling and restricted fetal growth in mice. NK cell education is influenced by receptor co-expression patterns, human cytomegalovirus (CMV), the HLA-E107 dimorphism, and HLA-B leader peptide variants.

Situated in the historical London borough of Hackney, there are two well-known memorials to James Parkinson that can still be easily visited: The first, a large, inscribed marble memorial tablet at St Leonard's Church that Parkinson was closely affiliated with throughout life; the second, a historical blue plaque marking the site of Parkinson's birthplace and former home practice at 1 Hoxton Square. Although many contemporary neurologists would freely recall the historical significance of these locations, very few now living can detail the circumstances leading up to these memorials being erected.
