Validation and derivation of short-term prognostic risk score in acute decompensated heart failure in China.

Background: Few prognostic risk scores (PRSs) have been routinely used in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). We, therefore, externally validated three published PRSs (3A3B, AHEAD, and OPTIME-CHF) and derived a new PRS to predict the short-term prognosis in ADHF.

Methods: A total of 4550 patients from the Heb-ADHF registry in China were randomly divided into the derivation and validation cohorts (3:2).

Admission Blood Glucose and 2-Year Mortality After Acute Myocardial Infarction in Patients With Different Glucose Metabolism Status: A Prospective, Nationwide, and Multicenter Registry.

Background: The prognostic effect of admission blood glucose (ABG) for patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has not been well validated, especially in patients with diabetes. We performed this study to assess the predictive value of ABG for all-cause mortality in AMI patients with different glucose metabolism status.

Methods: We evaluated a total of 6,892 AMI patients from the prospective, nationwide, multicenter CAMI registry, of which 2,820 had diabetes, 2,011 had pre-diabetes, and 2,061 had normal glucose regulation (NGR).

Stress hyperglycemia ratio and long-term mortality after acute myocardial infarction in patients with and without diabetes: A prospective, nationwide, and multicentre registry.

Aims: To assess the predictive value of stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) for long-term mortality after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in patients with and without diabetes.

Materials And Methods: We evaluated 6892 patients with AMI from the prospective, nationwide, multicentre China Acute Myocardial Infarction registry, of which 2820 had diabetes, and the remaining 4072 were nondiabetic patients. Patients were divided into high SHR and low SHR groups according to the optimal cutoff values of SHR to predict long-term mortality for diabetic and nondiabetic patients, respectively.

A Correlational Study on Cardiopulmonary Endurance in Male Patients with New-Onset Type 2 Diabetes.

Background: Cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPETs) are widely used non-invasive and reliable functional evaluation methods. This study investigated the correlation between cardiopulmonary endurance indices and plasma glucose levels and abdominal visceral fat in males with new-onset type 2 diabetes.

Methods: A total of 136 male individuals, who had been treated in the First Hospital of Qinhuangdao City, were selected to form a new-onset type 2 diabetes group (66 cases) and a control group (70 cases); individuals were divided into three groups (Q1, Q2, and Q3) from low to high according to their anaerobic threshold (AT) oxygen uptake (VO), AT VO/kg (VO per kg of body weight), peak VO, peak VO/kg, AT heart rate (HR), peak HR, and HR recovery after 1 minute.

In this study, we aimed to study the potential effect of lncRNA-PTENP1 and CCR2 mRNA polymorphisms on cognitive impairment in glioma patients. In this study, 279 glioma patients were recruited and grouped according to their genotypes of rs7853346 in PTENP1 and rs1799864 in CCR1.

Comparison of the Effects of Epidural Anesthesia and General Anesthesia on Perioperative Cognitive Function and Deep Vein Thrombosis in Patients Undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Objective: To explore the effects of epidural anesthesia and general anesthesia on perioperative cognitive function and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA).

Methods: Total of 68 patients undergoing TKA in our hospital from September 2019 to March 2021 were selected and divided into the control group under general anesthesia and the observation group under epidural anesthesia according to the different anesthesia methods, 34 patients in each group. TKA was selected in both groups and performed by the same group of physicians, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.

Impact of Hyperinsulinemia on Long-Term Clinical Outcomes of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients without Diabetes Who Have Acute Myocardial Syndrome.

Background And Objectives: Hyperinsulinemia plays a key role in the development of cardiovascular impairment in patients with metabolic syndrome. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of hyperinsulinemia on long-term clinical outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients without diabetes mellitus who have acute myocardial syndrome (ACS).

Methods: Between March 2016 and January 2019, we enrolled 468 patients with ACS and without diabetes mellitus who received primary PCI.

However, there is a lack of research examining the impact of EEA on locally advanced ONB. This study assessed the outcomes of EEA in patients with locally advanced ONB and its impact on the quality of life (QOL).

To analyze results obtained from high frequency semicircular canal function test in patients with unilateral vestibular neuronitis in the acute phase, aiming to provide references for clinical vestibular rehabilitation. A total of 49 patients with unilateral vestibular neuronitis in the acute phase were enrolled in this study. They were subjected to video head impulse test（vHIT） and vestibular autorotation test（VAT）.

Clinical outcomes of drug-eluting balloon for treatment of small coronary artery in patients with acute myocardial infarction.

There were good clinical outcomes of drug-eluting balloon (DEB) use in de novo lesions and in-stent restenosis (ISR) lesions. However, few studies focused on DEB use in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The aim of this study was to retrospective evaluate the efficacy of DEB for patients of AMI with de novo small coronary artery disease.

Association between cerebral oximetry and return of spontaneous circulation following cardiac arrest: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

The present meta-analysis was based on the available studies to determine the potential role of the initial and regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) in monitoring the efficiency of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and predicting the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). Three electronic databases of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were searched to identify the studies that investigated the role of rSO2 on ROSC in CA patients throughout May 2018. The weighted mean difference (WMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) was calculated to estimate the pooled effect using a random-effects model.

[Outcomes and quality of life evaluation following endoscopic endonasal approach for sinonasal malignancies].

To analyse the outcomes and the prognostic factors of patients with sinonasal malignancies following endoscopic endonasal approach, and to compare the pre- and post-operative quality of life. A retrospective single-center review of 79 patients who underwent endoscopic endonasal approach for sinonasal malignancies in Beijing Tongren Hospital from October 2004 to March 2017 was performed, including 51 males and 28 females, with a median age of 48 years. Data of demography, imaging (including nasal CT and MRI before operation), histopathology and treatment strategy were collected.

Background: Ferritin is one of the key proteins that regulate iron homeostasis and is widely available clinical biomarker of iron status. This study aimed to discuss the influence of serum ferritin (SF) on cardiovascular risk factors in the first-degree relatives with family history of type 2 diabetes (FHD).

The aim of this study was to investigate the positive rate of hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection and the possible adverse outcomes in pregnant women of Qinhuangdao, China. Serum samples of 946 pregnant women were collected from July 2017 to October 2017 in Qinhuangdao First Hospital. All samples were tested for anti-HEV IgM and IgG antibodies by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Aim: Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is a severe trauma that cells undergo and is associated with cardiomyocyte apoptosis. [Observation on effect of retraining therapy in patients with chronic tinnitus].

To analyze the curative effect of tinnitus retraining therapy on patients with chronic decompensated tinnitus and to explore an effective method to treat patients with chronic decompensated tinnitus.Thirty patients were treated for tinnitus retraining therapy for 12 months. The content of retraining therapy includes: tinnitus counseling,low intensity natural sound therapy, shift attention, and relaxation training.

Multiple metastases of clear-cell renal cell carcinoma to different region of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus 3 times successively: A case report and literature review.

Rationale: Distant metastasis of clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) to the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus is rare. Endoscopic biopsy used to be performed for diagnosis when it is difficult for complete resection due to intense bleeding during surgery. According to previous literature, the outcomes of metastasis after endoscopic surgery remain unclear.

Although over-expression of SelK inhibits adherence and migration of human gastric cancer BGC-823 cells, the effects of SelK in human choriocarcinoma (CCA) are not well understood. In this study, the expression levels of SelK in three CCA cell lines, BeWo, JEG-3, and JAR, were examined.

Fluvastatin therapy could not decrease progression of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation in non-valvular disease patients.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate whether fluvastatin therapy could decrease the probability of atrial fibrillation (AF) progression from paroxysmal AF to permanent AF and decrease the recurrence frequency of AF.
