Lung adenocarcinoma discovered during the follow-up of lung-dominant connective tissue disease: a case report and literature review.

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) can lead to lung cancer, which brings great challenges to differential diagnosis and comprehensive treatment. However, the clinical features of lung-dominant connective tissue disease (LD-CTD) related ILD combined with lung cancer has not been validated. We report the case of an 80-year-old woman with LD-CTD treated regularly with nintedanib who presented progressive dyspnoea and hypoxemia after recurrent viral infections.

Therapeutic potential of Angelica sinensis in addressing organ fibrosis: A comprehensive review.

Fibrosis-related diseases (FRD) include conditions like myocardial fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, hepatic fibrosis, renal fibrosis, and others. The impact of fibrosis can be severe, causing organ dysfunction, reduced functionality, and even organ failure, leading to significant health issues. Currently, there is a lack of effective modern anti-fibrosis drugs in clinical practice.

Clinical significance of platelet mononuclear cell aggregates in patients with sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Background: The diagnosis of sepsis combined with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) has increased owing to the enhanced awareness among medical professionals and the continuous development of modern medical technologies, while early diagnosis of ARDS still lacks specific biomarkers. One of the main pathogenic mechanisms of sepsis-associated ARDS involves the actions of various pathological injuries and inflammatory factors, such as platelet and white blood cells activation, leading to an increase of surface adhesion molecules. These adhesion molecules further form platelet-white blood cell aggregates, including platelet-mononuclear cell aggregates (PMAs).

Efficacy evaluation and mechanism study of electroacupuncture intervention in acute phase of IFP: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.

Background: Previous studies had already reported the efficacy of electroacupuncture treatment for idiopathic facial nerve palsy (IFP) in a recovery phase; however, the initial use of electroacupuncture in the acute phase remains controversial. Hence, in the present study, we will add electroacupuncture intervention based on oral prednisone tablets in the acute phase of IFP and compare the clinical effects with simple oral prednisone tablets. Besides, the prognosis and safety will be evaluated.

Background: There are evidence for the efficacy of acupuncture treatment for chronic shoulder pain, however, it remains unclear the best acupuncture modes for effective treatment. We compared the effect of the myofascial trigger point (MTrp) stuck-moving needle acupuncture with that of common acupuncture treatments. Further, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of stuck-moving needle acupuncture for the MTrp in improving pain and range of motions in patients with idiopathic frozen shoulder.

Effect of herbal tea on glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes: Protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a significant health concern worldwide, and good glycemic control is the basis of avoiding disease progression. Herbal tea, as a convenient and effective medication method, has gained popularity among many diabetic patients. However, there are no systematic reviews or meta-analyses to evaluate the clinical efficacy of herbal tea on T2D.

Effect of Hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) supplementation in regulating blood lipids among patients with metabolic syndrome and related disorders: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

This study aimed to assess the efficacy of Hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) in regulating blood lipids among patients with metabolic syndrome and related disorders. PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, and Clinical Trials were searched to identify the randomised controlled trials meeting the inclusion criteria. Study selection, data extraction, and risk assessment were performed according to Cochrane handbook; available data were analysed using STATA 15.

Gentle Manual Acupuncture Could Better Regulate Gastric Motility and Vagal Afferent Nerve Discharge of Rats with Gastric Hypomotility.

The variation of stimulus intensity of manual acupuncture (MA) may produce diverse acupuncture effects. However, the intensity-effect relationship and the underlying mechanism of MA are still elusive. In this study, the effects of MA regulation of gastric motility were investigated after lifting-thrusting MA treatment with four different frequencies (1 Hz, 2 Hz, 3 Hz, and 4 Hz) at ST36.

[Biomechanical experimental study on brace with stiletto needle therapy for scoliosis].

Objective: To investigate clinical biomechanical principle of brace with stiletto needle therapy for scoliosis.

Methods: Based on design ideas of teasing needle therapy, building an experimental mechanical model was built, seven specimens with scoliosis were chosen, and treated by brace therapy and then added to stiletto needle therapy.

Results: The two experimental mechanical model methods could predict load of scoliosis by stiletto needle therapy, and was verified accuracy and effectiveness of model.

Qualitative analysis on a proposal for key specific medical treatment for aplastic anemia.

Objective: By reviewing the medical treatments for aplastic anemia (AA, Suilao Disease), which is the important research interest of Collaborative Group, Key Department of Blood Disease, State Administration of Chinese medicine, the consensus on the diseases have been reached among the different units of the collaborative group.

Methods: Using qualitative analysis, we determined the characteristics, location and pathogenesis of Suilao disease. We discovered the ways of traditional Chinese medical treatment in curing Suilao disease.
