Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative joint disease featuring extracellular matrix degradation and apoptosis in the inflammatory microenvironment. Psoralea, a traditional Chinese herb derived from the dried and ripe fruits of the leguminous plant Psoralea corylifolia, possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties relying on the expression upregulation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2). Psoralen, a compound derived from Psoralea, can be well applied to the treatment of various diseases, while researches have not fully explored its therapeutic effect for OA.

Intervention effect of regulating GABA-A receptor activity on the formation of experimental abdominal aortic aneurysm in rats.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a potentially fatal vascular inflammatory disease characterized by infiltration of various inflammatory cells.The GABA-A receptor is expressed in many inflammatory cells such as macrophages and T cells and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Therefore, the GABA-A receptor may become a potential therapeutic target for abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Introduction: The oxidative balance score (OBS) is a holistic measure that represents the overall equilibrium between prooxidants and antioxidants in one's diet and lifestyle. Little research has been conducted on the correlation between OBS and 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk (ASCVD). Therefore, the objective of this investigation was to examine the potential correlation between OBS and 10-year risk.

Insufficient infiltration of T cells severely compromises the antitumor efficacy of adoptive cell therapy (ACT) against solid tumors. Here, we present a facile immune cell surface engineering strategy aiming to substantially enhance the anti-tumor efficacy of Th9-mediated ACT by rapidly identifying tumor-specific binding ligands and improving the infiltration of infused cells into solid tumors. Non-genetic decoration of Th9 cells with tumor-targeting peptide screened from phage display not only allowed precise targeted ACT against highly heterogeneous solid tumors but also substantially enhanced infiltration of CD8 T cells, which led to improved antitumor outcomes.

Clinical features and prognostic indicators in upper-tract urothelial carcinoma with bone metastasis.

Purpose: With the gradual increase in the incidence of upper-tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC), its metastatic disease has attracted much attention. The prognosis of UTUC patients with bone metastasis is worse than that of UTUC patients with other metastases. Therefore, the current study is performed to analyze the clinicopathologic features and survival predictors among UTUC patients with bone metastasis.

Background And Purpose: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is a major life-threatening consequence of cardiac myxoma (CM) and leads to a poor prognosis. Although intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) is the first-line treatment for AIS, its efficacy and safety in CM-AIS have not been established. Currently, there are only limited data from case reports.

Selectively disrupted sensorimotor circuits in chronic stroke with hand dysfunction.

Aim: To investigate the directional and selective disconnection of the sensorimotor cortex (SMC) subregions in chronic stroke patients with hand dysfunction.

Methods: We mapped the resting-state fMRI effective connectivity (EC) patterns for seven SMC subregions in each hemisphere of 65 chronic stroke patients and 40 healthy participants and correlated these patterns with paretic hand performance.

Results: Compared with controls, patients demonstrated disrupted EC in the ipsilesional primary motor cortex_4p, ipsilesional primary somatosensory cortex_2 (PSC_2), and contralesional PSC_3a.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This 3-month, single-blind randomized clinical trial with a 12-month follow-up period was performed from September 10, 2018, to March 12, 2019, and the trial follow-up was completed March 17, 2020.

Aerobic Exercise Attenuates Pain Sensitivity: An Event-Related Potential Study.

In this study, electroencephalography (EEG) was utilized to explore the neurophysiological mechanisms of aerobic exercise-induced hypoalgesia (EIH) and provide a theoretical basis for the application of aerobic exercise in pain assessment and treatment. Forty-five healthy subjects were randomly divided into moderate-intensity aerobic exercise [70% heart rate reserve (HRR)], low-intensity aerobic exercise (50% HRR), or control groups (sitting). Aerobic exercise was performed with cycling.

Prognosis of solitary bone plasmacytoma of the extremities: A SEER-based study.

Due to the rarity of solitary bone plasmacytoma (SBP), few studies reported the prognosis and survival predictors of SBP, especially for patients with extremity SBP.A total of 552 patients with extremity SBP were identified from the Surveillance Epidemiology and Ends Results (SEER) database between 1973 and 2016. In order to obtain independent predictors of survival, we performed both univariate and multivariate analysis via Cox proportional hazards model.

Clinical value of serial ultrasonography in the dynamic observation of foetal cystic adrenal lesions.

Objectives: The objective of the study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of ultrasonography in cystic lesions of the adrenal gland.

Methods: Twenty-two cases of adrenal cystic lesions found in the foetal period were retrospectively analysed. All foetuses were followed up by ultrasound after birth, and all lesions were confirmed by operation or ultrasound-guided biopsy.

Methods: This retrospective study was performed on 26 patients with muscle herniation confirmed by surgery. All patients were examined by US and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) preoperatively.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the role of T lymphocyte immune imbalance and interleukin (IL)-10 gene polymorphism in the development of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in obese children.

Methods: One hundred obese children at high-risk and low-risk for OSA based upon a sleep questionnaire were selected. Peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets were measured by flow cytometry, and plasma IFN-γ, IL-4, and IL-10 cytokines were detected by ELISA.

[Comparing the anchorage effects of micro-implant and J hook on treating patients with maxillary protrusion].

Purpose: To investigate the differences in anchorage effects between micro-implants and J hook in treating patients with Class II division 1 maxillary protrusion.

Methods: Thirty-one cases of adult patients with Class II division 1 maxillary protrusion were treated. They were divided into 2 groups depending on their selection.

[Clinical analysis of 22 cases with parotid gland duct injury].

Purpose: To discuss the early diagnosis and treatment of injury to the parotid duct.

Methods: Segmental epidural catheter was used to repair the injured parotid duct, if the broken ends of the parotid duct can't be anastomized end to end, facial vein transplantation and fascia parotideomasseterica flap were used for reconstruction.

Results: In 22 cases, one case was lost to follow-up, nineteen cases had successful reconstruction of the parotid duct with good parotid secretions.

[Investigation of indication for emergency surgical treatment of condylar fracture].

Purpose: To investigate the indication for emergency surgical treatment of condylar fracture.

Methods: Eight patients with single condylar fracture and 3 patients with bilateral condylar fracture underwent emergency surgical treatment, the results were evaluated through radiographs and clinical examination.

Results: The mouth opening was normal with good occlusion,condylar anatomical contour was rehabilitated.
