Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) self-sampling is a new method for collecting cervical isolated cells, but research been carried out in multi-ethnic and multi-regional areas of China is scarce.

Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the accuracy and acceptability of HPV self-sampling and analyze the characteristics of HPV infection.

Study Design: Women aged 25-65 years were recruited from 8 provinces in China.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the causes of different types of gallstones in populations living at high altitudes from a molecular perspective.
  • Bile samples from 20 cholesterol gallstone and 20 pigment gallstone disease patients were analyzed using advanced proteomics and metabolomics techniques, revealing numerous differentially expressed proteins and metabolites.
  • Key findings include the identification of potential biomarkers and significant pathways involved in gallstone formation, contributing to a better understanding of the disease mechanisms in these populations.

Mitochondria in hypoxic pulmonary hypertension, roles and the potential targets.

Front Physiol

August 2023

Key Laboratory of High Altitude Medicine (Ministry of Education), Key Laboratory of Application and Foundation for High Altitude Medicine Research in Qinghai Province (Qinghai-Utah Joint Research Key Lab for High Altitude Medicine), Research Center for High Altitude Medicine, Qinghai University, Xining, China.

Mitochondria are the centrol hub for cellular energy metabolisms. They regulate fuel metabolism by oxygen levels, participate in physiological signaling pathways, and act as oxygen sensors. Once oxygen deprived, the fuel utilizations can be switched from mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis for ATP production.

Consciousness arises from the spatiotemporal neural dynamics, however, its relationship with neural flexibility and regional specialization remains elusive. We identified a consciousness-related signature marked by shifting spontaneous fluctuations along a unimodal-transmodal cortical axis. This simple signature is sensitive to altered states of consciousness in single individuals, exhibiting abnormal elevation under psychedelics and in psychosis.
