Background And Aim: Discriminating between idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury (DILI) and autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is critical yet challenging. We aim to develop and validate a machine learning (ML)-based model to aid in this differentiation.
Methods: This multicenter cohort study utilised a development set from Beijing Friendship Hospital, with retrospective and prospective validation sets from 10 tertiary hospitals across various regions of China spanning January 2009 to May 2023.

Long non-coding RNA plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 (PVT1) has been reported to be a vital modulator in tumorigenesis of gastric cancer (GC). However, the detailed regulatory mechanism of PVT1 in GC remains largely unclear. In this work, the expressions of PVT1 and microRNA-16 (miR-16) were detected by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) in GC tissues and cell lines.

Background: Numerous observational studies have revealed an increased risk of death and complications with transfusion, but this observation has not been confirmed in randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The "transfusion kills patients" paradox persists in real-world observational studies despite application of analytic methods such as propensity-score matching. We propose a new design to address this long-term existing issue, which if left unresolved, will be deleterious to the healthy generation of evidence that supports optimized transfusion practice.

The sperm-associated antigen 5 (SPAG5) is an important protein in mitosis and cell cycle checkpoint regulation, with more attention as a novel oncogene in various cancers. High level of SPAG5 expression has been detected in our clinical gastric cancer (GC) samples and The Cancer Genome Atlas GC data. However, the bio-function and potential mechanism of SPAG5 in GC remain unclear.

Purpose: While asthma comorbidities are associated with higher health care utilisation, lower quality of life and poorer asthma control, the impact of asthma comorbidities on hospitalisation for asthma exacerbation (H-AX) remains less recognised. We aim to analyse the impact of asthma comorbidities on H-AX.
Methods: Based on a national survey on asthma control and disease perception (CARN 2015 study), we analysed the impact of comorbidities on annual incidence and frequency of H-AX in China.

Aberrant expression and alternative splicing of oncogenes are the driving events in tumor initiation and development. But how these events are regulated in cancer cells is largely unknown. Functions of ATP5A1, an important mitochondrial ATP synthase gene, in transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulation were explored in this study.

Background: The evidence related to bleeding and thromboembolic events after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) compared single antiplatelet therapy (SAPT) with dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) treatment are inconsistent. Moreover, there are some limitations such as small sample size and the risk of bias in existing studies. We will conduct a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the safety and efficacy of SAPT or DAPT after TAVR.

A clinical randomized controlled study design was used to select 144 children with cerebral palsy who were diagnosed and treated in the Rehabilitation Center of Xining Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Qinghai Province from June 2018 to October 2019, including 83 males and 61 females, aged 3-5 years old. According to the order of admission, the random number table was used to divide into a conventional treatment group (72, 40 males and 32 females) and a comprehensive treatment group (72, 43 males and 29 females).

Background: To investigate the correlation between quantitative pharmacokinetic parameters and clinicopathological prognostic biomarkers including estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), and MiB1 (Ki-67) in patients with breast cancer, the image histogram analysis was performed on dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI).
Methods: The reference region model (RRM) was used to calculate the quantitative permeability parameters, including reference region volume transfer constant ( ), the rate constant of tissue of interest ( ), and the rate constant of reference region ( ). Histogram analysis was performed to compare these parameters between ER/PR/HER2/Ki-67 positive and negative groups.

Objective: To analyze the blood supply and metabolism in the marginal area of foci of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis by quantitative perfusion parameters.
Methods: Thirty patients with hepatic alveolar echinococcosis were scanned with the Revolution CT and the images were analyzed. The perfusion parameters, such as the bloodflow (BF), time to peak (TTP), blood volume (BV), mean transit time (MTT) and hepatic arterial fraction (HAF) were compared among different groups.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) possess important biological characteristics of tissue repair and regeneration. MSC exert the properties promoting endogenous angiogenesis and have been widely applied in treatment of ischemia diseases. The therapeutic potency of MSC for ischemia diseases is owing to their secretion of angiogenic growth factors and release of exosomes.

In this work, we aimed to determine the expression and biological functions of microRNA (miR)-577 in colorectal cancer (CRC). The results showed that miR-577 was downregulated in CRC specimens and cell lines. Restoration of miR-577 significantly suppressed the proliferation and colony formation and induced a G0/G1 cell cycle arrest in CRC cells.
