Analysis of Factors Related to Throat Soreness After Painless Gastroscopy: A Single-Center Study.

Introduction: Throat soreness is a frequently encountered yet often underappreciated complication in patients undergoing gastroscopy. Few studies have explicitly explored the relationship between gastroscopy and throat soreness. This study aimed to review demographic data, summarize the characteristics, and investigate the influencing factors of throat soreness following gastroscopy.

CD73: agent development potential and its application in diabetes and atherosclerosis.

CD73, an important metabolic and immune escape-promoting gene, catalyzes the hydrolysis of adenosine monophosphate (AMP) to adenosine (ADO). AMP has anti-inflammatory and vascular relaxant properties, while ADO has a strong immunosuppressive effect, suggesting that CD73 has pro-inflammatory and immune escape effects. However, CD73 also decreased proinflammatory reaction, suggesting that CD73 has a positive side to the body.

[Clinical analysis of 8 cases of spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea with aspiration pneumonia].

To investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment, and efficacy of spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea (CFR) combined with aspiration pneumonia. In this case series study, a total of 8 patients diagnosed with spontaneous CFR combined with aspiration pneumonia were admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Yuhuangding Hospital Affiliated with Qingdao University from March 2020 to March 2022. There were 3 males and 5 females, with ages ranging from 45 to 57 years.

[Intrathyroid thymic carcinoma: report of a case].

Intrathyroid thymic carcinoma（ITTC） is a rare thyroid tumor that lacks typical clinical manifestations and imaging features, making preoperative diagnosis challenging.The primary treatment for ITTC is radical surgery; however, the effectiveness of adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy post-surgery is not well-established. This paper presents a case of ITTC , analyzing the clinical data and correlating it with the literature to explore the clinical manifestations, diagnostic approach, treatment, and prognosis of ITTC.

Immunoglobulin-like receptor genotype-associated protection from cytomegalovirus infection after liver transplantation.

Background: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a common clinical infection especially after organ transplantation and threaten the survival of recipients. Natural killer (NK) cells play an important role in the process of CMV infection. In this study, we want to explore that if the different of killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) of NK cells could affect CMV infection.

An approach for preparing multifunctional cellulose fabrics with hydrophilic-hydrophobic flexible modulation, salt-free dyeing and antibacterial performance.

A straightforward and effective approach was introduced for creating a multifunctional cellulose fabric in this paper. The epoxy groups in epoxidized soybean oil participated in ring-opening reactions with hydroxyl groups present in cellulose fibers and amino groups found in polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride, respectively, under alkaline conditions. Polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride could introduce cationic groups, while epoxidized soybean oil could contribute hydrophobic alkane chains.

Alkalinity enhanced hydrolysis of primary sludge for carbon source recovery and its impact on denitrification in wastewater treatment.

Primary sludge can serve as an internal carbon source for denitrification in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). This study explores the use of alkaline treatment to produce a fermentation broth from primary sludge, which predominantly contains short-chain volatile fatty acids (VFAs), with acetic acid and propionic acid making up over 65% of the total VFAs. The performance of this fermentation broth as a sole carbon source for denitrification was compared with that of sodium acetate, acetic acid, methanol, and ethanol in both biofilm and activated sludge systems.

Prediction of Synchronous Serum CEA Expression Status Based on Baseline MRI Features of Primary Rectal Cancer Lesions Pre-treatment: A Retrospective Study.

This study aimed to investigate the correlation between baseline MRI features and baseline carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) expression status in rectal cancer patients. A training cohort of 168 rectal cancer patients from Center 1 and an external validation cohort of 75 rectal cancer patients from Center 2 were collected. A nomogram was constructed based on the training cohort and validated using the external validation cohort to predict high baseline CEA expression in rectal cancer patients.

The effect of toluene sulfonic acid remimazolam on postoperative delirium in elderly patients undergoing painless bronchoscopy.

Toluene sulfonic acid remimazolam is a novel benzodiazepine that differs from traditional benzodiazepines (BZDs) due to its rapid onset, swift metabolism, and lack of hepatic or renal metabolism, as well as its reduced effects on cardiac and cerebral functions. Despite its potential advantages, clinical experience with this agent remains limited. This study investigated the effect of remizolam on postoperative delirium in elderly patients undergoing painless bronchoscopy.

Longitudinal CT Radiomics to Predict Progression-free Survival in Patients with Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy.

Rationale And Objectives: To develop and validate a radiomics signature, utilizing baseline and restaging CT, for preoperatively predicting progression-free survival (PFS) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC).

Methods: A total of 316 patients with LAGC who received NAC followed by gastrectomy were retrospectively included in this single-center study; these patients were split into two cohorts, one for training (n = 243) and the other for validation (n = 73), based on the different districts of our hospital. A total of 1316 radiomics features were extracted from the volume of interest of the gastric-cancer lesion on venous phase CT images.
