Objective: To explore the value of preoperative prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score in predicting response and prognosis of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in patients who received PD-1 inhibitors for advanced NSCLC. Patients were assigned by immunotherapy effects into response (partial and complete response, pCR) group (n=52) and non-response (non-pCR) group (n=132).

Purpose: To study the stability of physicochemical properties and sterilizing effect about two commercially available hypochlorous acid (HClO) products under simulated clinical conditions, and to evaluate the compatibility of HClO on soft and hard tissues and cells in oral cavity.
Methods: Samples of HClO solution with different production processes were prepared, to detect the changes of physicochemical indexes of each sample over time under simulated clinical conditions (shielded from light at 20-25 ℃, open the cover for 5 minutes every day), including free available chlorine, oxidation-reduction potential and pH. Through suspension quantitative germicidal test, the antibiosis-concentration curve of HClO solution was made, so as to calibrate the change of antibacterial ability of disinfectant with the decrease of available chlorine content during storage.

Background: The current use of adjuvant radiotherapy in thymoma (THYM) following radical surgery is primarily based on clinical factors and is a subject of ongoing debate.
Methods: We developed a new biomarker, promotor methylation burden of Deoxyribonucleic acid repair genes (RPMB), to identify patients who may benefit from adjuvant radiotherapy after complete resection in THYM. RPMB quantitatively measures the promoter methylation level of Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) repair genes.

Concurrent chemoradiotherapy (cCRT) has been predominantly used as the standard therapy for locally advanced or unresectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with stage III disease. Based on the outstanding results of Phase III Pacific study, Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitor consolidation therapy after cCRT without progression disease (PD) has been recommended by National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guideline as standard therapy for these patients. However, not all patients can tolerate a full course of cCRT due to the poor performance status, concurrent complications, or poor pulmonary function.

The incidence and factors related to mobile phone addiction among Chinese medical students were analyzed through meta-analysis. Chinese literature databases (such as China Knowledge Network and VIP Information Resource System) and English literature databases (such as PubMed and Web of Science) were searched for cross-sectional studies on the incidence and factors related to mobile phone addiction, and the required data were extracted. Meta-analysis was performed using a random effects model with RevMan 5.

The RNA polymerase II mediator complex subunit 12 (MED12) is an important factor for chemotherapy sensitivity. We explored the roles of exosomal transfer of carcinogenic microRNAs (miRNAs) in MED12 regulation and cisplatin resistance of ovarian cancer cells. In this study, the correlation between MED12 expression and cisplatin resistance was analyzed in ovarian cancer cells.

Developing functional dressings for promoting cellular activities and monitoring the healing progress is receiving increasingly widespread attention. In this study, Ag/Zn electrodes were deposited on the surface of a polylactic acid (PLA) nanofibrous membrane which can mimic the extracellular matrix. When wetted by wound exudate, the Ag/Zn electrodes could generate an electric stimulation (ES), promoting the migration of fibroblasts that heal wounds.

Purpose: To obtain an efficient and simple root canal disinfection method based on minimally invasive root canal treatment by comparing different root canal disinfection methods between minimally invasive root canal treatment and conventional root canal treatment.
Methods: Sixty-six extracted maxillary first molars were randomly divided into experimental group (computer-guided precision minimally invasive root canal treatment) and control group (conventional root canal treatment). All teeth were prepared to ProTaper universal F2, and Enterococcus faecalis infection models were established.
The properties of osseointegration and antibacterial ability is vital import for dental materials. Herein, we designed the multilayer TC4-Ag-polydopamine coatings, to provide TC4 with slow-release antibacterial properties whilst maintaining cytocompatibility. In brief, thickness of Ag inner layer can be easily controlled by magnetron sputtering technology.

Previous research has shown that CCR10 acts as a vital oncogene in the progression of multiple malignancies. However, its effect on the treatment of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has not been investigated. Current research examined the effect of CCR10 on the cellular survival and migration of NSCLC, and the modulation of cell death and found that the expression levels of CCR10 and CCL27 (ligand) were highly upregulated in human NSCLC tissue and cell lines, A549 and H157, compared with adjacent normal lung specimens.

Purpose: To compare the remineralization and protection effect of glass ionomer protective film and fluoride varnish on enamel.
Methods: One hundred and twenty-two premolars were collected and made into enamel blocks, two enamel blocks were randomly selected for scanning electron microscope(SEM) observation, the others were used for two experiments. In enamel protection test (experimental A), 60 enamel blocks were divided into 3 groups (n=20) randomly and treated with glass ionomer protective film(A1) and fluoride varnish(A2), the control group(A3) was not treated.

Purpose: In order to achieve accurate and minimally invasive root canal treatment and enhance the fracture resistance of tooth tissue after root canal therapy, this study explores digital guided mediated minimally invasive root canal treatment and compares it with conventional root canal treatment to provide a more favorable method for clinical practice.
Methods: Forty freshly extracted first permanent molars were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. Teeth in the control group were treated with conventional root canal treatment, while teeth in the experimental group were treated with precise minimally invasive root canal treatment.

Purpose: To measure the density of the cortex in the zygomatic alveolar ridge region of adults by 3D reconstruction, and to analyze the differences of cortical bone density between different vertical facial types in the zygomatic alveolar ridge in different vertical facial types.
Methods: Spiral CT scanning data of 48 patients (24 males and 24 females) were chosen for 3D reconstruction and divided into 3 groups(low-angle group, average-angle group and high-angle group) according to the size of the mandibular plane angle (FH-MP), 18 points at which the six planes of the zygomatic alveolar ridge on the left of the upper jaw intersected at 13, 15 and 17 mm above the baseline(the horizontal line of mesial buccal tip of the first maxillary molar) were measured. Endothelial cell (EC) monolayers located in the inner lining of blood vessels serve as a semipermeable barrier between circulating blood and surrounding tissues. The structure and function of the EC monolayer affect the recruitment and adhesion of monocytes, which plays a pivotal role in the development of inflammation and atherosclerosis. Here we investigate the effect of material wrinkled topographies on the responses of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and adhesion of monocytes to HUVECs.

This study aims to investigate the effects of TRB3 on the EMT and MAPK signaling pathways in a bleomycin (BLM)-induced pulmonary fibrosis mouse model. TRB3 adenovirus vector with green fluorescent protein (GFP) and TRB3-siRNA adenovirus vector were constructed for overexpression and down-regulation of TRB3, respectively. The pulmonary fibrosis mouse model was induced by bleomycin, and then treated with adenovirus on the next day.
