Indoor formaldehyde pollution can cause inestimable harm to human health and even cancers, thus studies on the removal of formaldehyde attract extensive attentions. In this paper, an environmentally friendly and low-cost biomass material, sodium alginate (SA) was utilized to prepare pyrene functionalized amido-amine-alginic acid (AmAA-Py) by acidification and two-step amidation, which is subsequently self-assembled on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) by π-π stacking interaction, and the final composites were acidified to afford a highly porous composite material for chemical removal of formaldehyde. The formaldehyde chemical removal performance of composite is evaluated at different conditions and find that 1.

In this study, ZnS capped Cu-In-S (ZCIS) quantum dots doped with Mn ions are synthesized by a thermal injection method, with luminescence covering almost the entire visible area. The large Stokes shift effectively inhibits the self-absorption effect under luminescence, and the quantum yield of ZCIS quantum dots increased from 38% to 50% after ZnS capping and further to 69% after doping with Mn. First, red-, yellow-, and blue-emitting quantum dots were synthesized and then, polychromatic ensembles were obtained by mixing the trichromatic quantum dots in a different ratio.

The disastrous spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has induced severe public healthcare issues and weakened the global economy significantly. Although SARS-CoV-2 infection is not as fatal as the initial outbreak, many infected victims suffer from long COVID. Therefore, rapid and large-scale testing is critical in managing patients and alleviating its transmission.

School of Textile Science and Engineering, Tiangong University, 399 Binshui West Road, Tianjin 300387, China.

In view of the environmental pollution caused by the widespread use of reactive dyes in the printing and dyeing industry, the modified cotton fabric was loaded with the extremely stable metal-organic frame (MOF) material UiO-66 for removing reactive dyes from colored wastewater. UiO-66/cotton fabric was prepared by in situ synthesis, and its surface morphology and structure were analyzed by XRD, SEM, BET, and XPS. The adsorption performance of UiO-66/cotton fabric on reactive dyes was investigated by adsorbent dosage, adsorption time and temperature, dye concentration, pH, and so on.

School of Textile Science and Engineering, Tiangong University, 399 Binshui West Road, Tianjin 300387, China.

Zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) formed by Co and 2-methylimidazole (MIM) is widely used for adsorption and separation of pollutants. However, there are some disadvantages for ZIF-67 powder, such as strong electrostatic interaction and difficulty in recovery from the liquid phase. The available way to solve the above problems is choosing a suitable substrate to load ZIF-67.

The utilization of biomass resources has attracted more and more attention due to the consumption of non-renewable resources. Compared with cellulose and lignin, hemicellulose has been less studied. Some ionic liquids (ILs) have been proved to be excellent solvents for lignocellulosic pretreatment.

Herein, we synthesized lanthanum (La)-doped sea sponge-shaped copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles and wrapped them with novel O-, N- and S-rich (2,5)-3-acetyl-2-((3,4-dimethylphenyl)imino)-5-(2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)thiazolidin-4-one (La@CuO-DMT). The shape and composition of the designed materials were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy. The graphitic pencil electrode (GPE) fabricated using La@CuO-DMT showed excellent sensing efficacy against dopamine (DA) with good selectivity, reproducibility and ideal stability.

Heterometallic nanomaterials (HMNMs) display superior physicochemical properties and stability to monometallic counterparts, accompanied by wider applications in the fields of catalysis, sensing, imaging, and therapy due to synergistic effects between multi-metals in HMNMs. So far, most reviews have mainly concentrated on introduction of their preparation approaches, morphology control and applications in catalysis, assay of heavy metal ions, and antimicrobial activity. Therefore, it is very important to summarize the latest investigations of activity modulation of HMNMs and their recent applications in sensing, imaging and therapy.

College of Materials Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Bio-Fibers and Eco-Textiles, Collaborative Innovation Center for Marine Biomass Fibers Materials and Textiles of Shandong Province, Qingdao University Qingdao 266071 China

S and N co-doped reduced graphene (S-N-rGO) nanohybrids were prepared by a one-step oil bath heating process using glutathione (GSH) as a green and mild co-reduction agent and a S and N source. It can be applied in the field of adsorption for the removal of methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. The efficient adsorption rate of S-N-rGO hybrids for MB (50 mg L) was observed with the best even within 2'07'' from blue solutions into colorless (the mass ratio GO : GSH = 60 : 200).

The aggregation behavior of dyes especially in the dyeing and printing of different textile materials is an important phenomenon which affects the process of dye adsorption and diffusion. In order to avoid the aggregation of dyes, scientists are looking for materials which can inhibit the aggregation process by fabricating the dye solution. Organic solvents have found important influence in the aggregation of dye molecules.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have good conductivity, but their size can't match the heterojunction nanostructure in polymer solar cells (PSCs). To improve the photovoltaic performance of PSCs, herein, a faciley fabricated composite hole transport layer composed of unzipped single-walled carbon nanotubes (uSWNTs) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) is effectively applied for PSC devices. Compared with the pure PEDOT:PSS hole transport layer (HTL) without uSWNTs, the uSWNTs/PEDOT:PSS layer shows more effective performance as the hole transportation layer.

College of Materials Science and Engineering, National Base of International S. & T. Cooperation on Hybrid Materials and Growing Base for State Key Laboratory, Qingdao University 308 Ningxia Road Qingdao 266071 P. R. China.

Benefiting from studies into Degussa TiO, forming junctions combining different phases of a semiconductor may provide new insights into the design of efficient photocatalysts, which are a key element in current solar-driven fuel production and environmental remediation. In this work, we aimed at creating a highly efficient rutile/brookite homojunction through precise crystal phase control. Characterization of the morphology and structure revealed that the ultrafine brookite phase TiO particles were uniformly attached to the surfaces of the rod-like rutile phase, not only readily forming a homojunction but also stabilizing the brookite phase.
