Objectives: Maternal exposure to environmental endocrine disruptors, such as phthalates, during pregnancy is a significant risk factor for the development of hypospadias. By consolidating existing research on the mechanisms by which phthalates induce hypospadias in rodent models, this systematic review aims to organize and analyze the discovered mechanisms and their potential connections.
Methods: The study involved all articles that explored the mechanisms of phthalate-induced hypospadias using rodent models.

The cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation, a combined stimulation based on two brain regions, may be an effective strategy for stroke rehabilitation. Our aim was to confirm that the cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation strengthens the connection between brain regions in the motor circuit and promotes improvements in motor function. This was a randomized double-blind, controlled Phase II trial.

Background: Ovarian cancer (OC) is a highly aggressive and often fatal disease that frequently goes undetected until it has already metastasized. The classic treatment for OC involves surgery followed by chemotherapy. However, despite the effectiveness of surgery, relapse is still a common occurrence.

Corticosteroids are the standard first-line treatment for primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), with a high initial response but unsatisfactory sustained response (SR). Additionally, corticosteroids usually lead to hyperglycaemia especially in patients with pre-existing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Besides reducing the blood glucose levels, metformin was found to have immunomodulatory effects.

Background: Hepatic organoids (HOs), validated through comparative sequencing with human liver tissues, are reliable models for liver research. Comprehensive transcriptomic and proteomic sequencing of HOs throughout their induction period will enhance the platform's utility, aiding in the elucidation of liver development's molecular mechanisms.
Methods: We developed hepatic organoids (HOs) from embryonic stem cells (ESCs) through a de novo induction protocol, mimicking the stages of fetal liver development: ESCs to definitive endoderm (DE), then to foregut (FG), hepatoblasts (HB), and finally to HOs stage 1 (HO1), culminating in self-organizing HOs stage 2 (HO2) via dissociation and re-inoculation.

Objective: Femoral neck fractures (FNFs) are a common orthopedic type, and there are many treatment methods for it, and cannulated screw internal fixation is currently one of the main treatment methods. The choice of fully threaded cannulated screw (FCS) or partially threaded cannulated screw (PCS) remains controversial. Therefore, we performed this meta-analysis to evaluate the outcomes of FCS and PCS in the treatment of FNF.

Background: The post-ICU home recovery period requires patients and caregivers to confront recovery challenges and adopt coping strategies as a family dyad, necessitating effective dyadic interaction patterns. Existing qualitative research shows that the dyads face interactive or independent challenges and employs varying coping strategies, which may include strong communication or, conversely, avoidance. However, a single qualitative study alone might offer limited generalizability, and there is a lack of broader, more nuanced understanding about the recovery challenge and copings among ICU survivors and caregivers.

Objectives: There are currently various tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-based regimens available, and it can be challenging for clinicians to determine the most effective and safe option due to the lack of direct comparisons between these regimens. In this study, we conducted a network meta-analysis comparing the efficacy and safety of distinct regimens to determine the optimal regimen for patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer, thereby facilitating clinical decision-making.
Materials And Methods: The PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library databases and international conference databases were comprehensively searched from their inception to 02 April 2024 for collecting data regarding efficacy and safety from eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic value of amide proton transfer-weighted (APTw) imaging in distinguishing cystic or predominantly cystic ovarian lesions.
Materials And Methods: 49 patients underwent APTw imaging at 3T-MR before surgery, with 20 volunteers serving as the control group. Participants were divided into the following groups: solid components of normal ovaries (Group A, n = 29), solid components of malignant lesions (Group B, n = 7), cystic fluid of follicles (Group C, n = 31), cystic fluid of benign lesions (Group D, n = 46), functional cysts (Group d1, n = 8), endometriomas (Group d2, n = 28), cystadenomas (Group d3, n = 10), and cystic fluid of malignant lesions (Group E, n = 12).

Background: Diabetes, a chronic disease necessitating long-term treatment and self-management, presents significant challenges for patients who spend most of their treatment time outside of hospitals. The potential of digital therapeutics for diabetes has garnered recognition from different organizations. Although some prior studies have demonstrated successful reductions in patients' blood glucose levels and body weight through digital diabetes programs, many studies were limited by including prediabetes patients, patients treated with mostly premixed insulin, or evaluating user engagement outcomes rather than clinical outcomes.

Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most common malignant tumors of the urinary system, and has a high recurrence rate and treatment resistance. Recent results indicate that mitochondrial metabolism influences the therapeutic outcomes of BC. Mitochondria-targeted photosensitizer (PS) is a promising anticancer therapeutic approach that may overcome the limitations of conventional BC treatments.

Gliomas are the most common type of tumor in the human central nervous system, characterized by high aggressiveness, elevated mortality, and poor prognosis. Therefore, developing new therapeutic strategies is crucial for improving glioma treatment. Temozolomide (TMZ) is widely used in glioma therapy due to its excellent ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier.

Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) is a common malignant tumor of the head and neck that significantly impacts patients' quality of life, with chemotherapy resistance notably affecting prognosis. This study aims to identify prognostic biomarkers to optimize treatment strategies for LSCC. Using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), combined with mitochondrial gene database analysis, we identified mitochondrial lncRNAs associated with drug resistance genes.

Bacterial infections cause high morbidity and mortality worldwide, and the emergence of drug-resistant bacteria further complicates the treatment of infections. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously develop new treatment methods. Polymyxin B (PMB), as the last line of defense, can combat most aerobic Gram-negative bacilli including common drug-resistant bacteria in clinical practice.

Aim: Flow diverters (FDs) are being increasingly used off-label for treatment of intracranial vertebral artery dissection aneurysms (IVADAs). However, the safety and efficacy of FDs for unruptured IVADAs remain unclear. This study was performed to investigate whether FDs-alone are safer and more effective than conventional stent-asisted coiling.

The integrity of the endothelial monolayer is critical for preventing life-threatening hemorrhaging and thrombosis. However, how severe endothelium-denuded injury is rapidly repaired remains unknown. Given the common biological properties between endothelial cells and circulating monocytes, we aimed to examine whether blood monocytes are involved in endothelium wound healing.

Background: Current models for predicting intraoperative hemorrhage in cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy (CSEP) are constrained by known risk factors and conventional statistical methods. Our objective is to develop an interpretable prediction model using machine learning (ML) techniques to assess the risk of intraoperative hemorrhage during CSEP in women, followed by external validation and clinical application.
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study utilized electronic medical record (EMR) data from four tertiary medical institutions.
