Post-transplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) is common after solid organ transplantation (SOT) and associated with increased morbidity and mortality for allograft recipients. Despite the significant burden of disease, there is a paucity of literature with regards to detection, prevention and management. Evidence from the general population with diabetes may not be translatable to the unique context of SOT.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The DAK Foundation (Sydney) has facilitated pelvic organ prolapse (POP) repairs performed by local gynecologists for underprivileged women in Bangladesh and Nepal since 2014. Initially, there was no long-term patient follow-up. When 156 patients were examined at least 6 months after their surgery, an unacceptably high rate of prolapse recurrence and shortened vaginas was identified.

Background: Single-stage repair of incisional hernias in contaminated fields has a high rate of surgical site infection (30-42%) when biologic grafts are used for repair. In an attempt to decrease this risk, a novel graft incorporating gentamicin into a biologic extracellular matrix derived from porcine small intestine submucosa was developed.
Methods: This prospective, multicenter, single-arm observational study was designed to determine the incidence of surgical site infection following implantation of the device into surgical fields characterized as CDC Class II, III, or IV.

Background: Surgical site infections (SSIs) occur in around 10% of women following a caesarean section. Efforts to reduce SSI include wound irrigation with povidone-iodine (PVI), but studies are nonconclusive, mostly old and few on women having caesarean section (CS).
Aims: To assess povidone-iodine (PVI) (Betadine) irrigation of wound prior to skin closure in reducing incidence of SSI after CS.

IgG4-related disease is a systemic disorder that can involve various abdominal organs. Abdominal manifestations include autoimmune pancreatitis, sclerosing cholangitis, gallbladder pseudotumours, multifocal renal abnormalities, retroperitoneal fibrosis, and sclerosing mesenteritis. Radiological appearances of the IgG4-related disease often resemble malignant tumors and other inflammatory processes, potentially leading to unnecessary invasive procedures.
