Rationale And Objectives: Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) is one of the most severe complications of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and its early biomarkers and immune mechanisms remain unclear. This study utilizes Resting-State functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) to explore early neuroimaging biomarkers and potential immune mechanisms of brain injury in SLE, with a particular focus on anti-ribosomal P protein antibody (ARPA).
Materials And Methods: A total of 47 SLE patients and 33 healthy controls (HCs) underwent rs-fMRI.

The application of traditional morphological and ecological species concepts to closely related, asexual fungal taxa is challenging due to the lack of distinctive morphological characters and frequent cosmopolitan and plurivorous behaviour. As a result, multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) has become a powerful and widely used tool to recognise and delimit independent evolutionary lineages (IEL) in fungi. However, MLSA can mask discordances in individual gene trees and lead to misinterpretation of speciation events.

Purposes: Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is widely used to detect focal lesions or diseases and to study metabolic abnormalities between organs. However, analyzing organ correlations alone does not fully capture the characteristics of the metabolic network. Our work proposes a graph-based analysis method for quantifying the topological properties of the network, both globally and at the nodal level, to detect systemic or single-organ metabolic abnormalities caused by diseases such as lung cancer.

Accurate prediction of daily river flow ( ) remains a challenging yet essential task in hydrological modeling, particularly crucial for flood mitigation and water resource management. This study introduces an advanced M5 Prime (M5P) predictive model designed to estimate as well as one- and two-day-ahead river flow forecasts (i.e.

Objective: Mitotane is currently the only product approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of adrenocortical cancer. However, there is a lack of comprehensive studies on the adverse events of mitotane.
Methods: Adverse event reports for mitotane in the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database since 2004 were collected and analyzed to identify mitotane as the primary suspect drug.

Transmembrane potassium ion channels are crucial for ion transport, metabolism, and signaling, and serve as promising targets for anti-cancer therapies. However, their hydrophobic transmembrane nature requires detergents, posing a major bottleneck for experimental handling. In this paper, we present a structural bioinformatics study of six experimentally determined and twelve modeled potassium channel structures, in which hydrophobic amino acids (L, I/V, and F) were systematically replaced with neutral hydrophilic ones (Q, T, and Y), making the proteins more water-soluble.

Background: In the absence of outcome-based ambulatory blood pressure (BP) trails hypertension guidelines provide 24-hour mean BP values corresponding to trial-validated office BP values. Data are shown for untreated and treated patients together, but whether corresponding ambulatory values are similar in untreated and treated hypertensives and reproducible at yearly measurements during treatment is undefined.
Methods: In 2397 patients of the ELSA (European Lacidipine Study on Atherosclerosis) and PHYLLIS (Plaque Hypertension Lipid-Lowering Italian Study) trials, we calculated the office and 24-hour BP relationship according to the linear regression model, with office systolic BP as the independent variable, at baseline and yearly during a 3-year treatment.

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to examine the potential of the RuC nanosheet as a biosensor towards the aromatic amino acids (AAA; tryptophan (TRP), histidine (HIS), tyrosine (TYR), and phenylalanine (PHE)). The AAA molecules were placed vertically and horizontally with respect to the RuC surface and then subjected to geometrical relaxation. According to the geometry relaxation results, it was found that all AAA molecules preferred to be adsorbed on the RuC surface in a horizontal configuration rather than a vertical one, except the HIS molecule, which desired to be vertically adsorbed on the RuC nanosheet.

We conducted network meta-analysis to assess cardiovascular toxicity of anaplastic lymphoma kinase-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (-TKIs). Eleven articles involving 2855 patients and six interventions including crizotinib, alectinib, ceritinib, lorlatinib, brigatinib and chemotherapy were analyzed. No significant difference was observed in overall cardiovascular risk among -TKIs.

Water is an important component of life and plays a vital role in human and animal lives, and because of these essential roles of water to life, access to quality water and in adequate quantity becomes imperative. Subsequently, water/wastewater systems have become established as reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance determinants in the environment. In this study, we carried out the synthesis and characterization of magnetite nanoparticles for use in the removal of genomic DNA of antibiotic resistant Escherichia coli isolate in aqueous system.

Introduction: The management of bleeding events (BEs) in haemophilia A (HA) and B (HB) patients with inhibitors necessitates the use of bypassing agents. The recombinant factor VIIa bypassing agent eptacog beta has demonstrated efficacy at treating BEs and managing perioperative bleeding in adults in phase three clinical studies.
Aim: To provide real-world descriptions of eptacog beta use for BE treatment in patients on emicizumab or eptacog beta prophylaxis.

Purpose: The ability of healthcare nurses to monitor and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) is essential for the identification of heart-related abnormalities and rapid treatment initiation. Lack of expertise of nurses in this competency may cause confusion and complications. The aims of this study were to assess the competency levels of nurses in monitoring and interpreting ECGs and to associate the knowledge with the demographic variables.

Background: Although intracoronary electrocardiography (IC-ECG) offers direct electrophysiological insights into myocardial ischemia caused by insufficient coronary blood supply, compared to common diagnostic methods like electrocardiography (ECG), it lacks widespread adoption and robust clinical research.
Objective: To analyze the value and accuracy of intracoronary electrocardiogram in myocardial ischemia diagnosis in coronary heart disease patients.
Methods: Three hundred patients treated at our hospital were included in the study.

We propose a single-row repair method for medium-to-large rotator cuff rotator cuff tears using a modified Mason-Allen suture enhancement technique (sunglasses loop), which uses high-tensile modified Mason-Allen sutures to close the medial rotator cuff tissues to form a sunglasses loop, resets the rotator cuff tissues via traction with the high-tensile suture, repairs the rotator cuff in a single row with triple-loaded suture anchor (anchor with 3 high-strength sutures), and finally employs an outer row of staples to secure the suture to the lateral aspect of the greater tuberosity, preventing the tendon from pulling out. This method uses a special sunglasses-shaped suture loop, which produces an increase in holding power and a reduction in tension relative to other single-row repair techniques and reduces the rate of rotator cuff retear.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a common, severe genetic blood disorder. Current pharmacotherapies are partially effective and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is associated with immune toxicities. Genome editing of patient hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to reactivate fetal hemoglobin (HbF) in erythroid progeny offers an alternative potentially curative approach to treat SCD.

Background: Cardiocerebral infarction (CCI), which is concomitant with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and acute ischemic stroke (AIS), is a rare but severe presentation. However, there are few data on CCI, and the treatment options are uncertain. We investigated the characteristics and outcomes of CCI compared with AMI or AIS alone.
