Epilepsy is a chronic disease of brain dysfunction, which arises from imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory activities in neural circuits. Previously, we reported that peptide Martentoxin (MarTX), from scorpion Buthus martensii Karsch, displayed antiseizure activities by specifically inhibiting BK(α + β4) channel currents. The induction of immunogenic ferroptosis in cancer cell is limited by the complex and delicate antioxidant system in the organism. Synergistic induction of oxidative damage and inhibition of the defensive redox system in tumor cells is critical to promote lethal accumulation of lipid peroxides and activate immunogenic death (ICD). Objectives: The aim of the present study was to determine the clinical value of a novel hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) target EH domain-containing protein 2 (EHD2) for predicting the outcome of patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).
Materials And Methods: GEPIA public database was searched to determine a possible association between HIF2Α and EHD protein family members, and kidney renal clear cell carcinoma data were used to find the expression profile of EHD proteins in ccRCC samples. A tissue microarray from 70 ccRCC samples was used for immunohistochemical analysis to determine the specific expression pattern of EHD2 in ccRCC samples.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of full thread screw and different fixation configurations in Pauwels type III femoral neck fracture.
Methods: A total of 40 artificial femoral model specimens were chosen, and Pauwels type III femoral neck fracture was simulated upon osteotomy at 80°. According to random number table, models were divided into four groups (10 cases in each group): Group A received the paralleled fixation with three partial thread screws (PTSs), group B received the crossed fixation with three PTSs, group C received the paralleled fixation with two full thread screws (FTSs) and one PTS, and group D received the crossed fixation with two FTSs and one PTS.

Objective: To investigated the link between the distribution of abdominal fat and the concentration of serum uric acid (SUA) in individuals recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: Studied 364 individuals had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within one month, and evaluated factors such as the distribution of fat in the abdomen, indicators related to glucose and lipid metabolism. The participants' SUA concentrations were divided into a normal control group (CG) and a hyperuricemia group (HG).

Objective: To investigate the effect of honokiol (HON) and the role of high-mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1) on the pathogenesis of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).
Methods: Thirty mice were numbered according to weight, and randomly divided into 5 groups using a random number table, including control, SAP, SAP and normal saline (SAP+NS), SAP and ethyl pyruvate (SAP+EP), or SAP+HON groups, 6 mice in each group. Samples of pancreas, intestine, and blood were collected 12 h after SAP model induction for examination of pathologic changes, immune function alterations by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and Western blot.

The failure of orthopedic implants is usually caused by inflammation, poor tissue integration, and infection, which can lead to pain, limited mobility, dysfunction of patients. This may require additional surgical interventions, such as removal, replacement, or repair of implants, as well as related treatment measures such as antibiotic therapy, physical therapy. Here, an injectable hydrogel carrier was developed for the steady release of inflammatory regulators to reduce the surface tissue inflammatory response of orthopedic implants and induce soft tissue regeneration, ultimately achieving the promotion of implants stability.
