Background/objectives: This study addresses the significance of mental health concerns by examining the intergenerational transmission of mental health between parents and adolescents. It investigates the serial mediating effects of family resilience, adolescents' adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and their ability to flourish in the transmission of mental health from parents to adolescents, with a focus on sex differences.
Methods: This study used a sample of 54,434 adolescents aged 12-17 from the 2016-2020 National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH).

In the management of reservoirs, different forms of infrastructure (such as dams, hydropower units, information) are functionally interdependent and often managed by different types of actors to form a social-ecological-technological system. Such interdependence also occurs because institutions (understood as rules that guide and constrain actor behavior) exist to indicate how infrastructures should be managed. We apply institutional analysis and social network analysis to identify how functionally interdependent infrastructures and actors are connected by formal rules created to manage reservoir operations in Argentina (Ameghino Dam, Chubut) and the United States (Coyote Valley Dam, California).

Nuclear DNA is organized into a compact three-dimensional (3D) structure that impacts critical cellular processes. High-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) is the most widely used method for measuring 3D genome architecture, while linear epigenomic assays, such as ATAC-seq, DNase-seq, and ChIP-seq, are extensively employed to characterize epigenomic regulation. However, the integrative analysis of chromatin interactions and associated epigenomic regulation remains challenging due to the pairwise nature of Hi-C data, mismatched resolution between Hi-C and epigenomic assays, and inconsistencies among analysis tools.

Consistent evidence shows that women are underrepresented across most Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields. Research indicates that early attitudes and gendered beliefs about mathematics can predict later achievement and academic choices in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and that children's attitudes are tied to parents' beliefs and interactions with their children surrounding math. In this policy brief, we explore several potential drivers of heterogeneity in policy outcomes that can be examined in tobacco control policy evaluations, expanding the evidence base to contribute to continued, equitable progress in reducing tobacco-related health outcomes. We discuss these factors in the context of a hypothetical evaluation of the impact of smoke-free laws on current smoking and quit attempts in the Tobacco Nation. Despite a similar policy environment within the Tobacco Nation, there is variation in the strength of smoke-free law coverage across states.

Dementia refers to an umbrella phenotype of many different underlying pathologies with Alzheimer's disease (AD) being the most common type. Neuropathological examination remains the gold standard for accurate AD diagnosis, however, most that we know about AD genetics is based on Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) of clinically defined AD. Such studies have identified multiple AD susceptibility variants with a significant portion of the heritability unexplained and highlighting the phenotypic and genetic heterogeneity of the clinically defined entity.

The boundary between wet and arid climate zones in the Tethys Ocean remains challenging to trace, complicating our understanding of global aridification pattern during the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian transition. The North China Block (NCB), situated in the Tethys Ocean, underwent a transition from humid to arid climate during the Early Permian, providing a rare opportunity to trace this climate boundary across this region. Here, we present paleomagnetic evidence indicating that the NCB underwent rapid northward drift between 290 and 281 million years ago.

The supramolecular binding exclusively by H-bonds of SeO, MoO and WO ions to form nanojars of the formula [EO⊂{-Cu(μ-OH)(μ-pz)}] (; E = Se, Mo, W; = 28-34; pz = pyrazolate) was studied in solution by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, variable temperature, paramagnetic H NMR and UV-vis spectroscopy, and in the solid state by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. These large anions allow for the observation of a record nanojar size, (E = Mo, W). Six crystal structures are described of nanojars of varying sizes with either SeO, MoO or WO entrapped ions, including the first example of a cocrystal of two different nanojars in crystallographically unique positions, and .
