Study of water-table behaviour for the Indian Punjab using GIS.

The state of Punjab (India) has witnessed a spectacular increase in agricultural production in the last few decades. This has been possible due to high use of fertilizers, good quality seeds and increased use of water resources. This increased demand of water resources has resulted in extensive use of groundwater in the central districts of the state and surface water (canals) in South-West Punjab, where groundwater is of poor quality in general.

Dystocia due to urinary bladder carcinoma in two water buffaloes (bubalus bubalis) - Clinical case report.

Two buffaloes with full-term pregnancy suffered from dystocia because the cervix did not dilate in spite of strong labour pains and other parturition signs shown by each animal. The urinary bladder, cervix, vagina and surrounding area were very firm. Dead, emphysemated fetuses were removed by caesarean in each case and anuria was also noticed.

Studies on follicular patterns in buffalo-heifers.

Frequent palpation per rectum was used to delineate patterns of development and atresia of large follicles (> 0.80 cm) on the ovaries of pre-, peri- and postpubertal heifers. The average size of large follicles in prepubertal, peripubertal and postpubertal heifers were 1.

Bio-histopathological studies of endometrium in repeat breeding buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis).

A total of 24 uterine biopsies were successfully obtained from 40 repeat-breeding buffaloes. The endometrium of 15 buffaloes showed marked neutrophilic infiltration in the epithelium, stroma and uterine glands. In some cases, lymphocyte and plasma cell infiltration, cystic dilatation of the glands and periglandular fibrosis indicated chronicity of the endometritis.
